Tara Lab cables have bad quality control?
Very surprised to hear of your problem with Tara. I used a pair of Reference Gen II XLR's that were fantastic, but I have no experience with Tara since purchasing that pair.

I use a Creek 4330 in my "summer system"--the stuff I haul out to my annual summer job out west. I'd definitely recommend the Creek--super amp for the $.

Do you have cable TV in your system too? That can often cause a ground loop through the coax cable. Try getting some "cheater plugs", one for each three-prong plug in the system, and use them in various combinations. Always have at least one compo...

Couldn't you just use a pair of Y-jacks on your preamp's outputs to split the signal?
