Opinion regarding Golden Ear Technology Triton 1R
There have been other posters in other threads contending that 1R's are much better than previous GE speakers.  I don't know which threads but you might find them with a search. If you have a chance to hear Spendor D7 at same or lower cost, I'd rec...
What are some of the most underrated and overrated loudspeakers you’ve auditioned?
Right, and sophisticated people know that, but if we always have to state such caveats with every post then forum becomes very boring.Keep it simple.  Spendor is way better than anything else out there.  haha, kidding of course - no disrespect int...
Is integrated the future for 2 channel audiophiles?
I think it’s kinda natural to make progressions. Like, most start out with AVRs because that’s what Best Buy sells and that’s what they can afford when starting out, and many probably go through a couple over several years. Then when ready to move...
Suggestions for Best Complete System -$1,000 or less???
I just put a sub-$1k system together at work and posted extensively on the journey in a thread titled “Only $800 ...”. I’d link to it but not sure how to do that. Easy to find, as I don’t have too many posts. Anyway, it’s a Bluesound Node 2 stream...
Best speakers for max. $3000?
Focal Aria under $3k is a solid option
Recommendations for modest budget
Good idea to upgrade from sound bar. I really like Marantz receivers, and your best value is buying last year’s model at 60% of retail when the new model comes out. I got the SR5012 for $600 (down from $1k) when the 5013 was announced. You may be ...
What are some of the most underrated and overrated loudspeakers you’ve auditioned?
Underrated: Spendor, Linn. Overrated: Bowers & Wilkins, Goldenear highly rated and deserving:  Sonus Faber, Dynaudio, Spendor (it’s clear what my favorite speaker brand is, haha)
Stacking subs to save space
Some subs are designed to securely stack (eg, some higher end RELs) but for those at aren’t I’d worry potentially about shifting due to vibration, as one potential downside.
What is wrong with a sub?
I within last year discussed subwoofers for music with a Wilson and REL dealer, who said that even the Wilson ALEXX, a phenomeonal $110k loudspeaker rated to 20Hz, benefits from well-done subwoofers.  The benefit is subtle, but it's there, accordi...
Paradigm Persona series
@david_ten ,That's cool, to each his/her own.  I wasn't trying to convince you.  I was just saying that I think in ideal world better to get speakers first, if possible, although I didn't do it that way either for various reasons.  Maybe the next ...
I need help to select a music streamer
I know you said budget is $1500 and I don’t have a recommendation at that price, but if you can stretch to $2k then Teac nt505 with dual ak4493 dacs is best value out there.
Bookshelf Bake Off
I was actually trying to make a joke. Bakeoff -> Dine-Audio. 😂 But seriously, Spendor is my favorite speaker brand and Dynaudio second.
Bookshelf Bake Off
Bookshelf Bake Off, ya say?Well then Dynaudio, of course!
Spendor D7
Interesting. I liked A7 a lot and if I’d have stayed at $5k speaker budget would have narrowed it down to A7 and Dynaudio X38 (not sure which would’ve won for me). I liked D7 more than A7 and never had chance to hear D9. Also heard A4 and A2. Main...
