Tweaking my Plinius SA-201...
Art,The Furutech fuse may be too warm for the Plinius, like the Pass amps. You may want to try a more neutral HiFi-Tuning Supreme. Don't waste your time with a HiFi-Tuning Gold or Silver if you're at the Furutech level. I have previously used Isoc...

Tubegroover is saying that the hole that you stick the allen wrench in is hex shaped, not that the screw is a hex shaped bolt.
HELP.. power problems
This may or may not help, but when I moved into my current home five years ago I had the same problem. An electrician from work came over and told me that I needed to replace all of my recepticles and light switches. He told me that the cheap contr...
Solid state warm up?
I think that Marakanetz may be correct. I went from a Spectron Musician III Mk 2 to a Pass XA 30.5 and had the same thing happen to me, at quiet, simple passages it was great, but at loud or more complex passages everything went mushy. I was told ...
Review: CH Technologies X15 power cord Power cord
In my system, as really good as the the Silent Source Music Reference are, each of the CH Acoustic X20 cables beat the Silent Source Music Reference in every area.To put it another way, I had the Silent Source Music Reference power cords and inter...
Balanced vs standard power
I just want to add that I think that you're thinking very clearly of a high power unit. I was told by three different audio component manufacturers that, like a power amplifier, the more power, the more headroom for dynamic bursts and an easier ha...
Power cable for Audio Research DSi200
Robert,I have found the CH Acoustic X20 to be the best power cord with my Spectron Musician III Mk2. The CH Acoustic X15 is also called the Running Springs Crown Jewel HZ, in case you haven't formally heard of CH Acoustic yet. There is a RMAF demo ...
Has anyone heard an MBL 1531 with an external DAC?
I do find the Wadia 581se, 781i and S7i clean, but that's what I look for in my music. I used to play in bar bands for 10 years, and from that I've become used to listening to see what each instrument is doing in a song. That said, the Duelund cros...
Has anyone heard an MBL 1531 with an external DAC?
Just a thought. It may be worth your time to consider replacing the 1531 rather than using it as an expensive transport. There are CD Players out there like a Wadia S7i. It's a great CD Player and it's set up with a USB input. There's one for sale ...
Any experience with HRS Harmonic Resolution system
The HRS platforms and rack is a high end product and it's expensive, as you probably know. Is it worth the audition, it sure is.The question that I have is: Is sitting a $3000.00 amp on a platform and rack that cost about the same, just to support...
Anyone have/heard Cerious Tech. React1 speakers?
Gary,How does the Billy Preston song go "Will It Go Round In Circles" - http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?ymisc&1308703386?Seriously, have you considered seeking out a dealer who has a system that you actually like, and then letting him ...
Soundproofing basement ceiling..
I just want to add one thing to the mix.I tried to stop the music from the basement using fiberglass insulation and styrofoam sheets between the rafters, and then the acoustical ceiling panels to finish everything off.I finished the whole basement...
Help Wanted
I would think so. Most of the reviews say that adding a tube preamp is icing on the cake with the Spectron. If you haven't heard a Spectron you'll be in for a treat. I run mine without tubes, in fact, I just run my Wadia S7i directly.Chuck
