Classical Music Compositions from 1940 and later - Vinyl only
Schubert, the Strauss Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra can be found on LP. The Karajan performance, coupled with Strauss’ Horn Concerto, is available on LP through eBay. I think the performances of both pieces are very fine.
LONDON Decca, Tzar DST and similar cartridges
Thanks for all the great responses. In the meantime, I have done some more background work based on your responses. I use Graham Phantom Elite and SME V and SME V-12 arms, and both have advocates for use with the Decca/London cartridges. The De...

LONDON Decca, Tzar DST and similar cartridges
Thanks for your responses. I have read that SME arms are a good match, any thoughts about that ? Or, as bdp24 says, is it best to specifically outfit arm and table for these cartridges?

Strauss "Four Last Songs" composed in 1948. Beautiful, short and some wonderful records out there: Karajan Janowitz, Schwartzkopf Szell just to mention a couple.
Turntable for life
I have two lifers - Technics SP 10 MK3 (Porter plinth, Krebs modified, SME V-12 and Graham Phantom 12") for direct drive and Basis Debut Signature (SME V) for belt drive.  I love them both for different reasons and wouldn't want to be without either.

Ebm: I'd probably do Brunello and Beethoven and Barolo and Mozart.
Nude Turntable Project
Perhaps you should try an air suspension shelf (see Albert Porter's system thread) or a spring loaded turntable shelf, like the Symposium Isis. I believe either of these would solve the acoustic feedback problem. The new cradle looks really nice!

Platter Levelling Issue
Agree with Lewm and Minkwelder and point out that even if the planes of the platter and plinth were perfectly parallel, vinyl records certainly won't be. I have a low percentage of records out of a collection of several thousand that are close to ...
WAVE KINETICS NVS Reference Turntable
I agree this is an interesting turntable. I'd like to know who has the results of running the Sutherland Timeline test on this design to see how well it maintains speed. Thanks.
Good sounding Deutsche Grammophon recordings
A really great sounding, classic DG recording is the Dvorak Cello Concerto with Pierre Fournier, George Szell and Berlin Philharmonic. The performance is superb and supplanted the Karajan / Rostropovich as my favorite recording of this piece. The ...
Has anyone heard the new Pass Labs XP-15 phono?
Drbuck4, what loading are you using with the Ortofon Cadenza Black? Thanks.
Better when it rains?
I've noticed the same thing. Perhaps the additional humidity affects the material in speaker diaphragms in a pleasing way?
Mozart Fans Only
I came upon this thread as I finished listening to my LPs of Schubert's Piano Trios (Beaux Arts Trio, Philips). Endlessly spellbinding and gorgeous music.
