Why Are We Breaking Our Brains?
I love this thread. As someone who’s just getting started I’d love it if we had a standard set of terminology we could start to communicate but to do that we really need reference systems.  Mum trying get started and I get told, oh that’s a littl...
Why does it take so long to get stuff?
A $1200 upcharge to get a pair of speakers from the UK to NZ   Agreed. I’m in NJ, USA.    overall it would be great for the local dealers to know the stock levels at the manufacturer …. And then I could order with a little more information. I’...
Streamer MQA Question
I was wondering if in order to stream TIDAL (which I have a sub to) do both the Streamer AND the DAC need to be MQA compatible/capable? Just to answer the original question. No - you don’t need to use MQA through tidal you can happily stre...
Streaming Services
Since I wrote this there’s three other features worth considering:  4. buffering. Does the device buffer the songs locally before sending to the DAC. This is helpful in cases where the network is unreliable and can help keep the data aligned prop...

Using streaming as a main source ---DSD, FLAC, MQA Streamers and DACS
Thanks all. I’ll start demoing blue sound vs innous to see what I enjoy more as a streamer. Once that’s sorted I’ll get an external DAC.    MQA seems pointless for what everyone is saying so I’ll ignore that for a while.
Using streaming as a main source ---DSD, FLAC, MQA Streamers and DACS
Streaming need be no more difficult than the rest of your system. You simply need the highest quality streamer and DAC you can afford.  It's not a matter of cost. It's just I like to use streaming. The recommendation system on Tidal is great --...
Can a Bluesound Node's Streamer Be Bypassed and be used as an External Dac?
There should be an optical out on the blue sound you can use.
Why don't higher end amplifiers come with a separate power chassis?
It seems 80% (totally anecdotal number) of the challenges around sound quality comes from the power supply of any complement. Very often the difference between different models from a manufacturer, at different price points, involve extremely comp...
Requesting recommendations for simple and easy to use music streaming devices
If you’ve tried the BluSound Node then a NAD option would work the same.    The problem with using a Blue Sound for anything else would be that it’s not a great DAC - when you combine it with a $2500 amp.    Is there a dealer near you where you ...
