All things being equal (hypothetical) which do you prefer, XLR or RCA?
More great responses! I do love the locking grip that XLR offers. What I have noticed though is that some manufacturers charge the same for XLR or RCA. While others charge almost significantly more for XLR (Transparent Cable-not a knock I do love ...

Thanks for the responses! @testpilot and @ron_hartman these are EXACTLY the kind of responses I was hoping for - thanks Folks!
Speaker Cables
@ghdprentice Great call on Transparent! I have been using Transparent for 20+ years now. I am now using their Plus speaker cables and IC's. Not only great products but excellent policies and customer service as well!
Looking for my "last" CD transport
I know this will sound crazy to some, but I recently purchased the Brennan B2. I have ripped all of my cd's and this thing is amazing! I have it connected via optical to a Schiit Bifrost 2 as my DAC and not only do I have access to all of my cd's ...
Gripped By Upgrade Fever
For 5K you should take a look at Dynaudio Evoke 50. They are magnificent. I became a huge fan of Dynaudio when they introduced their Audience line many years ago. Whilst I was not as impressed with Emit or Excite, I have found Evoke to have more o...
For a few dollars more
@oldhvymec GREAT call on Tombstone! Agree completely some of the best acting you will see.. LOVE that movie! So many quotable lines from that one:"Hell Doc why would you get mixed up in this anyway"?"Wyatt Earp is my friend""Hell I got lots of fri...
Taking time (and time outs) to enjoy the ride...
I bring this up only because I had to sell all my gear after my divorce 17 years ago. Just within the last 2 years have I gotten back into Audio/HT. My current quest was to regain that "feeling" again. And only until very recently have I gotten it...
Toslink cable that isn't prone to jitter, possible?
Thanks @soix Unfortunately a cd ripper isn't an option as my router is on another floor and cannot be moved. So I have no way to connect either the Node Vault or Innuos. I have been looking for another carousel (need at least 100 disc capacity) th...
Taking time (and time outs) to enjoy the ride...
@millercarbon EXACTLY! It is truly a "feeling". Best possible way to describe it and you just know it when it happens. This is exactly what happened to me when I first brought home my Dynaudio Audience 82's 20+ years ago. Soon as I sat for that fi...

Whoops sorry for the multiple post
Toslink cable that isn't prone to jitter, possible?
Thanks for replying, I am not using PC/Mac. I have toslink from cd player to Bifrost, then XLR's from Bifrost to my pre/pro...
Toslink cable that isn't prone to jitter, possible?
So I just spoke with John at The Cable Co. He said the exact same thing, "you cannot hear jitter", but if you're getting interruptions in your music it is most likely the Toslink cable". I'm going to send the Voodoo Toslink back to them and I just...
Toslink cable that isn't prone to jitter, possible?
Thanks again chayro, great info! What's weird is I actually "rebooted" the DAC as it seemed to be happening all of a sudden. I turned it off and pulled out the power cord. Waited like a minute then fired it up and didn't hear it again, so that see...
Toslink cable that isn't prone to jitter, possible?
It's strictly the convenience factor. I don't love it because it's a great sounding unit (and now it doesn't matter as it's just a transport), I love hitting "random" and having it stop anywhere from Clannad to Iron Maiden:)! Plus I never have to ...
Toslink cable that isn't prone to jitter, possible?
Thanks for responding @chayro, it almost sounds like it's skipping almost like a couple of split second delays. It's not the cd either (yes some of my older discs are a bit worn and do skip) but this has happened on brand new cd's. Hard to describ...
