Naim Nait 2 vs. Rega Mira 3 Update. I have tried several amps to replace the Nait 2 and have found none that I like better. Tried Sugden, Lavardin, and several others. I can't put my finger on what I like, but I am stuck with it. I have a 47 Labs Shigaraki digital rig no...
Naim Nait 2 vs. Rega Mira 3 I am still happily using the Niat 2. I recently changed to a Naim CDX, and I am not sure I like it more than the Planet. As people have said about the CDX, it is pretty unforgiving. And, it seems to add a bit of sibilance that I have not heard bef...
Small and Excellent Speakers Proac Response 2. You can get a pair for less than $1,000 now.
Naim Nait 2 vs. Rega Mira 3 I went back to the Nait 2 for anyone who is tracking this. The Mira just didn't excite me as much and didn't sound quite as real.
Naim Nait 2 vs. Rega Mira 3 Arthur, I see what you are getting at, but I hear the same kind of character in the phono section as I do in the CD section. I am going to give it some more time, but my first instincts are almost always right on these things.
Naim Nait 2 vs. Rega Mira 3 I've heard the 5i and don't really like it. To me the Nait 2 sounds more natural and not as hi-fi. I do not want to admit that the Rega sounds more hi-fi because I like the company (I have a cdp and truntable/arm/cart from them) and their philosop...
anyone have setup tips on an old Koetsu Black? Thanks for the tip Kehut. I think I'll be going with the Blue Dot Precision arm wand. I hear that the precision helps steady the Koetsu well. But, I have to say that on my yellow dot non-precision it already sounds captivating. Another fella alos ...
Small CD Players The Flatfish is nice and small but very expensive. Get the 47 Shigaraki transport and dac to save some money and not lose much performance.
Has anyone heard the 47 labs Shigaraki DAC? Wire strippers. It's a tedious and dangerous job. It's a good thing 47 gives you 50 meters in the kit! As long as you make a clean cut through the insulation it comes off with just a little coaxing.
Has anyone heard the 47 labs Shigaraki DAC? This is more than a tweak; it dramatically changes the sound for the better. I don't understand how it works, but it certainly does. Yoshi recommends painting the wire with enamel, but the enamel has a tendency to crack off leaving the wire expose...
Has anyone heard the 47 labs Shigaraki DAC? I responded back in June that I had heard the full Shigaraki system. Finally, after waiting several months for the equipment to come in, I own the full system sans phono section (which I will buy later). It is superlative. Everything just sounds s...
Powerful Integrated amp for Proac Super Tablettes Thanks very much for all of your help, all. Zonus, I am looking for a powerful amp because I hear that the speakers are notoriously insensitive. And the friend I need this amp for has exhibited little interest in tubes. I have all sorts of tube re...
Is it worth it? I agree with Edesilva. I have Proac 1S which I run with a full 47 Labs Shigaraki system (amp, transport, dac, cabling). The sound is very musical and involving. And the Audio Research matched to Proac is a winning combiation. I heard Proac Respons...
Has anyone heard the 47 labs Shigaraki DAC? I heard the full Shigaraki system last night. I still have vivid memories of the experience. I have owned about 50 pieces of hi-fi in the last 4 years; nothing prepared me for the sound of this system for the money. I have heard better systems, bu...
LISTENER Magazine...What Do You Think? The great thing about Listener is that you get the impression that they are more honest in their reviews than Stereophile. When a Listener reviewer does not like a component you know it from reading the review; you don't have to read between the l... |
