A21SE vs Supernait 3 vs Eci 6 mkII
The A21SE is tremendous so if you can audition absolutely do. I went to it from a Luxman 507ux which was also a great amp - after a side by side I could give up the Sugden sound so the Luxman was sold on. When I had the Supernait in house with the...
A21SE vs Supernait 3 vs Eci 6 mkII
I haven’t spent any time with the ECI but I’ve owned Naim Naits previous and demoed The Supernait 3. Currently I own a Sugden IA4 which was an upgrade from an A21SE. Agree with Yeti that the proof is hearing it in your system but I can speak to th...
Horn speakers , high efficiency but not “shouty”
Not sure how sensitive you need but the JBL 4367 at 94db is not shouty at all to my ear. Just move from the Heresy IV which was also very easy to live with but the JBL takes it to another level. Maybe too revealing at times but I’ll take an honest...
Your thoughts about ATC loudspeakers
I have never noticed any deficit in the higher treble regions with my SCM40 V2s. I’ve had a several speakers in house at the same time with different tweeter designs (Klipsch Heresy IV, Zu Soul Supreme, Tannoy Cheviot, Tannoy XT8f, JBL 4367) and t...
JBL 4349 or Klipsch Cornwall IV
Depends on the solid state. I’m using a Sudgen A21SE with Heresy IV and it’s an excellent match. I also have a couple of tube amps but I don’t feel like I’m missing out on much with the Sugden. Now I’m looking at demoing either the Cornwall IV or ...
Missing tube integrated for Klipsch Forte III?
With my Heresy IV speakers I am using Tung-Sol 7581a tubes in my Primaluna Dialogue Premium. Find they have almost the minds of the El34 but stronger low end with the extra watts. Used KT88s,  EL34s, and KT120s previous but the 7581a is the keeper...
Klipsch Heresy 4?
They respond well to quality but aren’t too picky about tubes vs solid state so far in my experience. Today listening to them with a Primaluna Dialogue Premium with great results but I also use an Almarro a205a and a Luxman 507ux. All sound great ...
Klipsch Heresy 4?
Had them for a week and a half. You can’t do better than Steve’s review above - convinced me to give them a shot. I had the Heresy III and it was an easy decision to trade up after hearing the IV. The III was good and a lot of fun but the IV much ...
Klipsch Heresy IV - not what I was expecting
Just got my Heresy IVs in this morning and am now “working” through the break in process. If they are similar to the IIIs they are replacing it shouldn’t be too long a process. So far the bass is the biggest difference and really helps lend a more...
Considering getting a CD player (again). Used? New? Criteria?
Just bought my CD player in 20 years and I am loving it. Got tired of material being disappeared From the streaming services. Bought a factory referred Cambridge Audio CXC for $300 on EBay direct from Cambridge and I push it through an Yggdrasil. ...
Which Int. Amp with passive ATC SCM40
I actually have my wife to thank for most of the more recent metal I listen to and the ATC speaker decision too. We were in a local hifi shop auditioning other speakers and she heard the SCM40. Ordered a pair same day. They were being fronted by p...
Which Int. Amp with passive ATC SCM40
I have had the SCM40 speakers for about a year now. Chosen for how they handle metal specifically. We listen to a bit of everything including death and adventure metal (Amon Amarth, Demons and Wizards etc.). Any system we set up here has to presen...
ATC SCM 40 v 2 and tube amplifiers
I use my ATC SCM40 v 2s with a Primaluna Dialogue Premium with KT120 tubes (also swap in KT88 and EL84 sometimes). In triode I doubt any bust past 35 watts but it works great in my setup. I do have a mediumish  to smallish room and never listen mu...
Does anyone have a Schiit Yggy DAC?
Exactly. My Mytek Brooklyn definitely ran hotter.
Does anyone have a Schiit Yggy DAC?
Just measured the temp on the top plate of my Yggdrasil and mine is at 82F at its hottest in a room at 67 degrees. Sits on a shelf in an IKEA Besta unit with about 4 inches above and 3 on a side for breathing space.
