Why hasnt a turntable manufacturer produced a table with automatic tonearm return/shutoff?
The spindle stackers were terrible because the records would get scratched when one dropped on another. as others have said, I think there are some decent semi automatic tables, but all that I know of that claim to be high-end are manual. I don’t ...
The law of diminshing returns?
@newton_john  I agree with you, I think we are saying the same thing although I may not have articulated it very well. The point I was trying to make is that people in the hobby have a different stopping point for the resources they are willing an...
The verdict - Burmester 232 is worth MUCH MUCH MUCH more than its price!!!
@terraplane8bob Great equipment and, by all appearances, a great company. The ability to maintain the level of excellence after his passing is a real testament to those involved with that business. Not easily done in a small business,
??? Where Does "High End" Start ???
@eldragon  my experience has been a little different. Not trying to be disagreeable because we all have different perspectives and mine is certainly no better than yours. I certainly agree that we can all enjoy great music, regardless of the equip...

Qobuz Connect
I use Qobuz through Roon and it works well. Particularly if I reboot every few days, which seems to reduce the delay between tracks. I would like to use QC because I don’t tend to use DSP features on roon and could cut out a layer of software. I’v...
The law of diminshing returns?
I think what @ghdprentice had to say has been mischaracterized. This is not as complicated as it’s been made to be. Every one of us has a different satisfaction threshold when it comes to sound and pain threshold when it comes to money. There is n...
Jays Audio Being Dismantled-Final videos
I have watched a lot of Jay’s lvideos and generally have enjoyed them, not because his opinions are all that relevant to me, but just for the opportunity to see the gear at the level he demonstrates. I do agree that he is milking this move he’s ma...
8 Reasons why you should buy an $50,000 DAC
@ghdprentice +1. My experience is similar-I try to do my homework and with one exception, every significant upgrade has brought significant improvement, speakers and room treatments rendering the biggest yield. Everyone has different tastes, and ...
Is there such thing as a test lab/escrow service for selling/buying audio gear?
+1 for TMR. Recently sold a phono stage through TMR. It sold within 3 weeks for listed price and had my money within a couple of days. They made sure it was in good shape and ready to sell. They made shipping easy. The best part-I never had to dea...

"What a relief!!!"
Congratulations. That's a beautiful system.
Wasted Years.
@sns +1. I enjoy the music. I enjoy it more if its skillfully recorded, mixed and mastered. And I find that when I've been able to improve my system and/or my room the music sounds better and I enjoy it more. Squirrel logic. 1+1=2.

I gave him some advice too. Maybe not good advice, but I was fully prepared to put in an order for a bottle of Van Winkle
