Why hasn’t B&W ever entered the ultra hi-end for speakers? B&W are a high end speaker company. They do very expensive speakers. Their flagship is the nautilus which is $60k a pair excluding the 8 monoblock amps required to make them work. There are more expensive speakers but they are not very good. P...
Passive Bookshelf Speaker Selection They're clear, detailed, powerful, have plenty of bass, and represent a killer value. @hartf36or you are overexaggerating. The fact that you mention no downsides proves that.
Speaker popularity Some audiophiles are known to enjoy the sound when you reverse the phase on just one speaker as it creates a beautifully wide stereo imaging effect. I've been to a few demos where this was done to me.
Passive Bookshelf Speaker Selection But just as you can hear your girlfriend and know its her even if muffled by a blanket that ruins the frequency response, in other words ruins the sound that you hear, when its really her you know it by the patterns. We don’t register frequenci...

Threads worth reading! Erik, I see not one graph showing the off axis measurements of the SNR1. I dare you erik. Its easy to get flat response on one axis. I could do it from my armchair!
Threads worth reading! There is no mind I admire more than the mind that can hold multiple completely contradictory view points all at once and pick among them to convince others of his perspective. Erik, I dare you to prove to me that the SNR1 is better than the almigh...
Speakers that are a great value! could you please provide us just one link Kenjit, a single as in 1 link, to a single speaker that you have designed, tuned and built? The short answer is no. Much of my experience comes from retuning existing designs that i already own. Its also a ...
Speakers that are a great value! Fritz speakers are hand built so the finish is not perfect but I wouldn’t say that Dynaudio is levels ahead.Dynaudio has their own research facility with a massive measurement lab. Fritz is just a DIY/amateur operation. Big difference.
Speakers that are a great value! You have a very special gift when it comes to “wrong”. You are right about that. Thats why I consider myself the champion! |
