TAD Reference loudspeakers-How good are they?
btw, i should mention i have a high respect for TAD because of what they have done on the pro sound spectrum. George Massenburg uses the drivers---that's high praise.
TAD Reference loudspeakers-How good are they?
i'm interested too---but they have like no dealers in the US, so an impossible chore even if i could afford them.Magico, Wilson, and even YG have a lot better distribution.
Zu Soul Superfly
Firstwatt should work great with them. You might also confirm with Zu.
Zu Druid upgrade kit
Zus with 845s are a great match from what i've heard (i've heard them on Defs, not Druids thought)
Recommended Speaker for Triode Amp
Kenny- definitely read the recent thread on high efficiency speakers----has all you need to know. You might also talk to the Triode importer and see what he prefers. I was looking at the 845SE integrated amp for quite some time...nice looking/buil...
Manley Snapper Monoblocks or Mcintosh MC252
i don't think the Snappers will properly drive the Dynaudios.
Zu Druids upgraded Vs Essence
don't think that is a horn on the Soul...looks like a super tweeter ala its more expensive Presence/Definition brethren.
High powered point to point tube amp?
A pair of VTL 450s works really well with your Sashas on the high output side of things.I've also had very good luck with BAT and Wilson---a 75SE is plenty of power for the Sasha, and as Raquel says, due to the tremendous transformers it uses.
Zu speakers with Atma-Sphere M60 amplifiers
as an aside, I have heard the Pass X-30.5 isn't a perfect power match with Definitions as well. perhaps it's related.
Zu speakers with Atma-Sphere M60 amplifiers
you might ask Zu (Sean) to make sure the impedance is correct for OTLs---as I recall, you can have this adjusted at the factory.
Shindo amps vs. preamps
well guys, a Haut Brion is on its way. let's hope it does the trick!KeithR
SS Amp Preference for DeVore Fidelity Silverbacks
read the Valvet review on Positive Feedback where it seems this might be a good amp for Devores. i have not heard it though.
McIntosh 6600 vs 6900
the 6600 is really the new version of the 6900---not the 7000 which is more powerful than both. in fact, the 6600 has the new volume control (optically controlled analog if i'm not mistaken used in the C2300). it does not have the 5 band tone cont...
McIntosh MC1.2kw
McIntosh makes much better stuff these days than 10 years ago when i first heard them (i'm a young audiophile). I own a MA6600 and it has a really nice sound on the right speaker. It is not slow and dark like the old reputation was. They also are ...
What pre are you using for your Pass X.5?
I used a 2.5 with my 250.5---it really wasn't my cup of tea, but my problem with Pass if you are limited with preamplifier choice due to the impedance (most tube preamps will not work).I believe something like the Cary SLP-05 should work with Pass...
