Linn Kolector or Wokonda preamp?
I was in the market for a new Linn preamp and compared a Kolector to the Wokonda at my local Linn dealer. While my dealer and I both agreed the Wokonda did sound better, it was only marginal and not worth the extra cost (again, on the new market)....
Linn Ikemi still viable at 4k
I have owned a lot of Linn demoed equipment, some of which have unfortunately been sent back to Linn for warranty repair. My old Majik was in its four year of ownership. In my experiences, the warranty starts the day I purchase the equipment from ...
Connecting Bookshelve Speakers to PC
If anyone is following this tread, I found a couple of subs to power speakers: Phase Technology's Velocity HV-800, 1000, or 1200 and the JBL E150P and E250P. These two have line in and front speaker hookups. Tim
Connecting Bookshelve Speakers to PC
I would like to find a powered sub for speakers. I mean all computer oriented speaker packages have an amp for speakers. Bose have a built in amp for speakers. I would like to use my current sub the speakers terminate into what looks like an old A...
Linn Aktiv cards for tri-amp LK140/Ninaka
Are there any performance gains if you switch the cross over plates to Tri Amp Aktiv, but just a third cable from the second row of outputs on the bass/mid amp? Has anyone tried this?Just a thoughtTim
Amps for Linn Ninka Spreaker
Here is the best source for Linn changes by serial number. http://www.daniel.silicon.nu/linn.htmlI am running two LK140's aktiv into Ninkas and previously ran only one passively. I never tune demed the LK140 to the LK85, because I wanted as much p...
Upgrade to Linn Klout s or go active ?
I say aktiv, but have never tune demed aktiv LK amps to Klouts. I have aktiv LK140s and am thrilled with them. Here is an interesting article to help decide. After reading this, I decided to stay aktiv instead of upgrading to one passive 2250.http...
Linn Ninkas now Aktiv but a couple questions.
I came across this old posting in another forum and thought you might want another opinion:___________Passive with standard bases needed to be close to the rear wall (about 7inches) to get "even" soundActiv (2xLK140) with standard bases needed to ...
Linn Ninkas now Aktiv but a couple questions.
Stuart:My room is 17.2L x 11.2W x 8H. My listening chair is around the 13-14 foot mark. Measuring from the top of the speaker to the back wall: Passively, the Ninkas were installed by my local dealer who set them up 3 3/16” from the wall on “the i...
Linn Ninkas now Aktiv but a couple questions.
I am running Aktiv Ninkas, but in an all Linn system. Instead of daisy chaining the amps, I am running both amps (LK140) out of the preamp (Kolektor). I am using the Linn supplied PCs and ICs (black). The PCs are plugged into a PS Audio Juice Bar ...
Center Channel Match for Linn Keilidh Speakers?
I am using two Kan IIIs for my center channel, paired with Keilidhs for my front and 5110s for my rear. I found them to be a great match in sound. Tim
going active with Linn Majik
I don't think you can go active with a Majik. The Majik can accept a tuner or kudos (multi-room module), but I don't it can accept an active card. If it can, you will still need at least one more amp. The design of Linn's active system is one amp ...
Linn Kairn vs. Kairn Pro
The only difference is phono, which is what you hook your turntable to if you listen to vinyl. If you don't have or don't plan on purchasing a turntable, you don't need to spend the extra money.
"All Linn" ... is it still a good idea ?
I am running the Kolector/LK140/Genki/Ninkas and totally love this setup. I would recommend super-sizing the LK85 to the LK140. I have not listened to the 5140s so I cannot comment on them, but I am very impressed with the Ninkas. If you are consi...
Linn Majik vs Kairn/LK85
I was faced with the same decision as you, but instead of going with LK85/Wakonda, I went with the LK140/Kolector. I could not hear a great enough difference between the Kolector and the Wakonda, but could between the LK85/LK140. The Kairn was mor...
