High value, giant killer speakers? I have to give a nod to GoldenEar Triton Reference for being as good as loudspeakers that are roughly twice the price.
Bookshelf Bake Off I own Dynaudio Special 40 and love them. Have seen several pair pop up used at around $2K. You have plenty of power for them. Before I bought them, these were on my short list and in your price range:Buchardt Audio S400Salk/Philharmonic BMRLegacy ...
What amp is best with Wilson Sasha DAW speakers My introduction to Wilson Sabrinas was with Audio Research. During subsequent auditions, the DAW were in their high end room with Audio Research 160 monos, Ref 10 pre, and dCS Vivaldi . My last audition included an A/B with AR and Moon by SimAudio...
Monoblock suggestions to compare to SimAudio Moon Neo 400M? @auxinput - thank you for your responses. Very insightful and a big help. Really appreciate the time you took to reply.
Monoblock suggestions to compare to SimAudio Moon Neo 400M? @mijostyn - thanks for your response. Not a thing wrong with the Benchmark. They are on my list. I’m very green at this, so excuse my ignorance. Somehow I think that amps designed to be mono would sound better than amps that are bridged to be mono...
Monoblock suggestions to compare to SimAudio Moon Neo 400M? @toddcowles - I left pellets, except on my deck, a long time ago. I have two Jambos that Jamie Geer built for me. That's the only pit I cook on I'm completion these days.I settled on the Wilson Audio Sabrina, but am hoping to swing the next step...
Monoblock suggestions to compare to SimAudio Moon Neo 400M? @toddcowles - yes, I'm a full time competition barbecue competitor. So, you had the Pass pre paired with the PS Audio 300s before getting Pass monos?
Monoblock suggestions to compare to SimAudio Moon Neo 400M? At a shop where I first heard Wilson Audio, they primarily offer Audio Research, Moon by SimAudio, and Solution. An A/B comparison of ARC and SimAudio, the later was a better match to my ears. I have/had already purchased the PS Audio gear. I'm...
Speaker recommendations for MC275 I’m new enough to this, that I haven’t quit figured out all the details necessary for pairing amps and speakers, but it was it was recommended that I strongly consider the MC275 to pair with my Spatial audio M3 TriodeMasters from a source I trust.
What is the one piece of advice you would give about attending AXPONA? Day one complete. Covered a lot of ground. Feet don’t hurt too bad. Used many of your tips. Heard some very good rooms and some not so good rooms. Some were a surprise (good and bad). Not planning to mention which were which as I understand things...
What is the one piece of advice you would give about attending AXPONA? Again, thank you all for commenting. The tongue in cheek comments are funny. Well, mostly.
What is the one piece of advice you would give about attending AXPONA? Great advice all. Thank you. I did a real newbie thing. I excited posted my query, then realized that I had not searched the archives. I did so, and found several threads on this topic. Still, there is some new advice here and I appreciate it...
Wilson Audio Sabrina . . . I'm smitten. Should I consider others? @nkonor - Go see Mick and Dave at Quintessence Audio. They’ll bend over backwards to play your music. While their primary way to demo is streaming, they are definitely analogue guys and have great tables. This is where I fell in love with Wilson ...
Wilson Audio Sabrina . . . I'm smitten. Should I consider others? I have a bad case of analysis paralysis. Three or four pair of speakers were added to my list to audition, that are proving difficult to hear. I hope to remedy this with a trip to AXPONA next week, although the Sabrina are still my favorite. |
