Room is way too bright.
I had a similar issue. My listening room is 16' wide by 33' long. It is an "A" frame with 12:12 pitch and no truss cross members. each end of the "A" frame is all glass. The floors are Oak Hardwood and the ceiling is Cedar planks. We have a large ...
How do you decide what to listen to? Same old stuff?
subscribe to a magazine that covers the music you listen to. The writers will introduce to the younger, newer versions of what you currently listen to. It will open your eyes to what is out there.
Ugliest Component of the Year 2024!
Great topic! I think that the beauty is in the sound, so give me a big ugly, if it sounds great, the appearance will be more acceptable,    I actually painted my transformers on my monoblocks Islanders colors. They still sound awesome!
Help me identify an amp
Tubes for Hifi makes the kit similar to these amps called the VTA ST-70. Also have a ST-120 version. All their stuff are modifications to the original Dynaco gear. I’m sure they could help you source any parts you need to replace and also help dia...
Subwoofers are a superlative room treatment
I'm Jealous, but happy for you. I'm running B&W 702 S2's with a pair of B&W DB4s subs. Yours are their flagship with the  dual 12" drivers and 2,000w to drive them. I was thinking of getting one of your DB1D's instead of the dual DB4s's, b...
More potential bad news for some big names...
I miss Oldsmobile, I'm finishing restoring my IH Scout II, next will be a 1968 Olds Cutlass Convertible - love that car.   I'm also looking for a turntable, have an old Dual, thinking of getting a VPI. I'm not done with this hobby either.
Have you heard LTA Aero, Lab12 Reference, Denafrips Pontus 15th?
They had the LTA Aero's set up for headphone listening at Capital Audio Fest. Also had it integrated into a system with massive planar speakers. Sound was very smooth. I was also there to check out the Geshelli Dayzee - reviews of this put it up t...
No God No! Say it Ain’t So!
@mfili35 Volkswagen is also making the new Scout, and missing the boat altogether. They bought the brand to compete in the "rugged off road SUV" market which currently consists of Jeep, Bronco, Defender, 4-runner and similar. The Iconic versions ...
Schiit Yggdrasil DAC, why did they change it ?
heading to Capital Audiofest this weekend and plan on auditioning several DACs. Not sure the Yggy will be there, but do know Geshelli Labs will be there, very interested in hearing the different versions of their Dayzee. I've been researching the ...
Non-Audiophile Audiophile question!
I had this issue way back when and solved it with the B&W rock solid system - with the passive subwoofer. Neat setup and great sounding for small space - although rated up to 150 watts. I still have the speakers and have re-purposed them for m...
Holographic DAC With Air And Decay
thoughts on the Geshelli Labs Dayzee? Going to Capital Audiofest and excited to have a listen... It probably depends on the custom build, but the boards are socketed, so you can roll op amps like you do with tubes to (hopefully) create the sound ...
McIntosh MC 2106: HUM!!!
@Stager Agreed, I had a groundloop in my system, eliminated it by using the adapter 3 - 2 prong and amazingly all the buzz went away. It seemed like magic, but it's actually physics.
Six DAC Comparison
I've been interested in the Linear Tube Audio Aero, I have B&W 702 S2 speakers that are very accurate and currently just use my bluesound vault as a streamer and DAC. Thinking adding the Aero would be an improvement. I just need to go hear thi...
Rogue Audio RP-1 DAC use
also, why do most people recommend the "Less is More" version of the Yggy over the "More is Better" version?
Rogue Audio RP-1 DAC use
I have a Vault II and am considering getting a Schitt Yggdrasil. Was also looking at the Linear Tube Audio Aero DAC - little more $$. My question is if I will see improvement from just using the Bluesound Vault as my DAC. Thoughts, Experience? I...
