Classical speakers that do violins well??
Have to chime in for VA speakers. One of the reasons for buying my Bach Grands was their reproduction of mids - strings, vocals, horns - the best in their price range IMO. Add to that amazing soundstaging and musicality with great detail for a war...

All about the bass
Revels are not mentioned much anymore but if you can give them a listen. I heard the F32 (I believe that was the model - sorry, don't remember what they were powered by) in a system and was very impressed with the tight, clean bass produced. Don't...
Speaker Recomendations $3000
BTW, just noticed a pair of Bach grands on Agon for $1,395. That's quite a price!

Vienna Mozart or Dali Helicon 400 with YBA
Ipous, I am using an Adcom 555 II amp with Adcom GTP 500 II pre. Recently I added a Rega Planet 2000 and Eichmann Express 4 speaker cables. ( I guess I should put this in my system profile, huh?) The Adcom has loads of power but can be a bit heavy...

My VA Bach Grands are excellent for vocals, horns, and piano. Great richness and timbre with detail also. Great recordings sound lifelike and not-so-great ones sound good too as the Bachs are a somewhat forgiving speaker. The only issue is if you ...
Who makes speakers with relaxed high freq.?
shoe, I have the same problem in my living room setup - bright room (room treatments out of the question!) and Adcom 555II amp which I tend to agree with the general consensus is on the bright side. I chose to look for new speakers and my two favo...
