Synergistic New Tesla Line...Any comments?
Hi all, this question may have been asked before, but since this is actually the 750th entry it's not easy to trace that back. I have been noticing a constant buzz coming prom the MPC of my T2 power cord. It may have been there for some time but n...
Liquid Sky and The Alloy Orchestra
"Koyaanisqatsi", musical score by Philip Glass. Not quite in the same vein as Liquid Sky but different for sure, sort of hypnotic
Best Tributes, Covers, Dedications
Nguyên Lê, "Purple - Celebrating Jimi Hendrix" on ACT records for all those who went from rock to jazz through the years but stayed safely anchored in the first category as well, as did yours truly.I have no intention to advertise for any record s...
Soulution 710 Amplifier and 720 Preamplifier
Audiobrian, without wanting to subscribe to Fafanion's statement regarding US vs. European products, if you are willing to look at other European amps (ss) as suggested, then Tidal must be on your shortlist (even more so should you listen to vinyl...
Extension cable on Stax earspeakers
Thanks Mapman, I bit the bullet and bought a 2.5m extension used. And I'll try to do exactly what you did: just listen to music and NOT A/B, trying to convince myself that the tympany sounds 1 notch less silver-hued on a scale of 1,000 :^o
Do you ever wonder?
Absolutely agree with Bill. Cream appears to be a special case, anyway. Look at (or rather listen to) Jack Bruce's solo albums and Ginger Baker's projects too (in diminishing order of popularity, sadly)
Speakers in 10-15K price range for Classical music
Have to agree on Shahinian here. Given that Richard Shahinian spent probably half of his life in concert halls and actually conducted orchestras if I'm not mistaken, if these speakers can do one thing it's classical. Altough this is at least 6 yea...
Purist aqueous vs Venustas IC
Agree with Blindjim, look at the cdp first. On the other hand your present cdp - which one is it btw? - may actually have the sonic character you prefer and may have been carefully chosen in that respect? So before you decide to change, have you a...
"Come So Far"
No guarantee, but you might want to try Elusive Disc http://www.elusivedisc.com/departments.asp?dept=1371 Good luck
Do you ever wonder?
Thought of two more brilliant bands and sure hope I can get rid of the instant headache: Stryper and Mötley Crüe, different "messages" (lol) and yet so very much alike in their utter expendability
Acoustic Revive RR-77 Ultra low pulse generator
Hope, I'm not slipping into some mild paranoia. I've recently bought a Kemp SR and can't say it appeared to do much, sonically. However, I've kept it plugged in since I thought it might change over time and, anyway, can't harm. Reading Fork's comm...
Bookshelf Speakers?
WLM Diva Monitor (97db) are great with small tube amps and room-wise extremely flexible paired with the Diva Control unit. http://www.wlm-loudspeakers.com/indexengl.htmlProvided they are in your budget?
Do you ever wonder?
Probably just about everything that creeps into the hit parades although, in honesty, I can't be sure of that anymore ever since the likes of Atomic Kitten, Black Eyed Peas, et.al. actually forced me (physical pain, I swear) to quit listening to t...
CD Player with Analogue Volume Controlled Output
Ancient Audio Lektor V: excellent player but it will strain the "modestly priced" criterion, I presume. Consider it has analogue inputs as well and can actually replace a pre-amp in a small system and the price becomes a bit more palatable.http://...
Any suggestions for middle eastern music
Provided you like modern style (and only then: music released on ECM, that should tell it all) with traditional instruments - the oud in particular - Anouar Brahem may appeal to you. Typical ECM-style thoughtful but dense music for those who care ...
