Aleph 3 with Micro Utopia?
Marakanetz- first Aloha is a greeting not my name(Kana). A-3s are avaiable for under $1K, an SA-100 is $4.5K, but my point was it's mid-fi thinking that more power means more music. The A-3 can drive this load. If Souporhero wants to rock out, A-5s...
Aleph 3 with Micro Utopia?
Souporhero- please pay no attention to Marakanetz's mid-firemarks.I owned an A-3 and it's a great amp. Based on the Micro'sspecs it will drive them just fine.I own speakers with Focal drivers, like the Micro, they can sing with low power. The A-3 i...

Diana Krall's New CD "Live in Paris"????
Cpdunn99- Thanks for the update, I'll listen to Tobin'slatest. No insult intended. To a non-drinker, there no suchthing as "good whiskey."You should try some kava, it makes you feel relaxed without dulling your senses. Here's a "good kava" link- h...
Diana Krall's New CD "Live in Paris"????
Cpdunn99- I was all set to give Tobin a listen until yousaid she mixes Cohen...the most boring singer/songwriter onthe planet. I guess if you drink whiskey anything sounds good.Guess I'll have another cup of kava and put on Alison Krauss's new liv...
Diana Krall's New CD "Live in Paris"????
Compared to the sonic air bushed sound of her studio recordings this is not a bad effort. The Concord Records boys- Hamilton & Clayton provide her with a good foundation to entertain her Paris fans.
Black glass KenRad 6SN7s take the cake
Twl- Have never seen a "black base RCA 5692." The red baseRCA 5692s that were used in my MFA electronics(preamp & amp front end) had plenty detail.Very interesed in your speaker system. Where can I getdetails on the drivers and cabinets?Aloha.
Black glass KenRad 6SN7s take the cake
D_t_m- the 5692 & 5691 are more neutral sounding and usuallyhave a lower noise floor and are less prone to vibration. If you get a chance check out the RCA brown base.
Black glass KenRad 6SN7s take the cake
D_t_m- have you ever tried any mil spec 5692 in place ofthe 6SN7s?
Help in Speaker Selection
If you can leave the panels behind, take a good listento the WB Arcs- retail $3.6k w/stands. Don't be fooled into thinking bigger is better. If you want more bass, there are Talon Ravens & Khorus speakers listed on audiogon in your price range ...

Maggie Fans, what will u miss if you give them up?
My T-1Ds biamped with an ARC D150 on the top and D110B on the woofers. When you got the volume set just right, they would turn the room into a 3D wonder.Wish they'd release another 3 panel system with real guts on the bottom.Aloha.
Help me with preamp choice.

Tube amp for planar speakers and SS pre
Agreed with Czbbcl on the tube preamp/SSamp combo. The maggies need lots of power. Before you switch to a planer speaker, you should checkout some quality 2-way speakers, like the Talon Ravensand the Wilson Benesch Arc.
