Hate to ask......
Mid-fi HT sound quality is below hi-end! I mistakenly thought good HT also meant good music. After years of suffering through "bad" music on my Denon AVR 5600, Def Tech BP 2000, and SONY DVD C3000, I added the Classe 150 integrated amp and ARCAM 9...
Does EVERY component need break-in?
I do it. My new ARCAM CD 92 sounded "OK" right out of the box but it wasn't as "full" and "warm" as I remembered it in the store. This weekend I put it on "repeat" for 36 straight hours and it sounded "fuller" and "warmer", the traits that attract...
This ever happen to you?
"Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar," said Freud. If you enjoyed it, consider it a "gift" experience. Somethings are better appreciated and left as a mystery.
Bang for your Buck HT
Don't assume good HT also means good music! If you love music than build the systme for music and go from there. I discovered no matter what you do to an mid fi HT system (DAC, cables, tweeks, etc...) it will never improve if audiophile-quality mu...
My latest find. What's yours?
Renee Fleming's "Beautiful Voice". I don't understand a single word she's singing but it's "Stop ya' in your tracks" beautiful! This disc will be a great test for your speakers and electronics.
MIT T- 2 OR BETTERCABLES? FOR SPEAKERS
I bought MIT T2 biwires speaker cables and recently got Transparent Musiclink biwires. I preferred the MIT T2. The MIT sounded "livier" and had more overall "energy" while the Transparents sounded "softer". See if Audioadvisor.com still has them o...
Home theatre and Musical Experience
Music and HT together is very very hard. I have a Denon AVR 5600 and Def Tech 2000 - great for HT but very lacking in music. I've upgraded to Link III DAC, MIT T2 cables, separated all my cables and moved speakers around but got only barely satisf...
Biwiring and Def Tech Towers?
I got responses from MIT, Def Tech and you folks. Thanks. Everyone consistently said: no jumpers if I use the line level in for the sub and the "low" marked pair of wires on the MIT T2 can be plugged into the "mid" posts of the Def Tech. Last nigh...

Top Music DVD s?
Neil Young's DVD "Friends and Relatives" recorded at Red Rocks Amphitheater, CO last year and released in late 2000 is my standard for a concert video and audio. The colors are life-like and performers framed in shots as if you were in a small nig...
How did U get into this expensive hobby?
I like to say "Rock and Roll saved my soul" as a teen ager in the early 70's. Word and feelings I could not express found expression in the Stones, Santana, Dylan, Mitchell, and the Dead. Concerts became "church" for me and the records relieved me...
