How many cd/dvd/sacd/cdr's players do you own?
Do computers count? If so then 7 computer CD players2 car CD players2 audiophile CD players (soon to be 3 next week)2 DVD playerswhich makes 13 (soon to be 14). We have 2 turntables. Hmmmm, so me thinks there is a pattern here...
Has anyone heard the new AA Capitole 24/192 Mk II?
We heard the same thing (we will get our floor model late next week). Will it better the best? Stay tuned - the entire North American audiophile community will be sure to post their listening impressions ... simultaneously it seems like :-)

What is the right thing here................
Perhaps having him ship the speakers back, giving him a refund, and then examining and fixing the speakers at your lesuire (perhaps just to resell them) is the best thing. This way you wash your hands of this person. What if next week the tweeters...
how many have a WAF?
We've been together 12 years and just got married for reals last year. We also divide the finances into two seperate pieces. When we both work (which is rare bceause we are both software consultants) we make about the same amount. We share pretty ...

"Super" Tweeters for new digital formats?
Did you see "Examining the Tannoy Super Tweeter", Robert E. Greene in the latest April/May 2002 TAS? Seems like a subtle but positive benefit from super tweeters according to his write up.
Did I do the right thing?
Flex,You forgot to add the :-) Sometimes well written sarcasm looks *too much* like the real thing...Personally, I thought your post was hilarious... I vote to put it in the Class A, limited frequency range category of recommended Audiogon jokes a...
What is the future of amp technolgy?
Spectron seems to be doing interesting things with digital class D amplifiers. Some people seem to love it. I personally have only heard it on a low-fi system at CES and did not and do not have the expertise it would take to isolate the 'potential...

Stereophile looses Jonathan Scull
I second Zaikesman's words as follows: "He deserves credit for communicating his obvious love of music and audio, for trying to entertain, for employing diverse styles of music in his auditioning, and for never taking himself seriously - despite h...
Are You Happy?
Well, since I am one of the ones that thinks 90% of my collection is un-enjoyable I should probably say something...For one, I have a lot of CDs - at least 3000. About 200 - 300 are audiophile quality. Some of these are duplicates (upgrades) of or...
Should I upgrade my Meridian 508.20 to 24 status
OK, maybe I am wacko, but I found the 508.20 to be warm and nice sounding and the 508.24 to be very detailed and analytical (though bobsmith is very correct, not as analytical as the Wadia!).I will get a 508.20 for old times sake (I have better, m...
CD direct to amp vs active preamp
Contrary to the general opinions here, my Levinson 39 was working great into Levinson 20.6 monoblocks... UNTIL I put a burmester preamp between them... There is NO comparison - the preamp was better in Every Single Possible Way.And why shouldn't i...
better gear, worse recordings
From my perspective, I cannot do anything about the quality of the CDs I love (except perhaps re-buying them over and over again, if possible, as they iterate up the higher-bit-mastering chain - which is kind of annoying and expensive - or waiting...
