The Audio Gods are tough but fair-Have you had the "Curse of the 300B" ?
Listen however and to whatever puts you in that zone:)Aric is a very nice "mad scientist" and does custom builds too. I enjoy reading about the smaller companies, visiting their websites, blogs, and FB pages.Sorry to get off topic!Hopefully some mor...

More "instrumenty" .I like it:)I understand perfectly what you mean. Before I bought my current(and last) amp I was torn between going with an SET or Push Pull.I ended up with one that can be switched from ultralinear to push pull built by Aric Aud...
More Cowbell
The only one that comes to mind right now is Honky Tonk Woman.Whenever I hear a cowbell I always think of that SNL skit too:)
Amp "timing" ?
It's just another way to describe a component, cable, etc. that gives the impression of a livelier presentation.I have heard it myself when trying various tubes.
Mapleshade Isolation: Does Nothing?
Like most tweaks, footers and platforms seem to be system dependent as knownothing says. The only butcher block I have tried was an antique that I discovered tucked away in a cabinet in our house. It's 12x12 made of 2 1/2" thick boards laid out horiz...

No love for 70's guitar bands?
There's a lot of pop music I can enjoy on the car radio but don't crave to ever listen to at home.Black Sabbath and Billy Joel come to mind.Fun traveling tunes:)
No love for 70's guitar bands?
I'm with lowrider and stevecham and was lucky enough to be exposed to lots of great music back in the day.Journey,John Denver,Bread, etc. were pleasant enough but I gravitated towards more interesting(to me) music.Any love for Frank Zappa?
New Sound Proofing?
Interesting!

Pictures of my acoustic treatments and a long explanation (in comments) about what worked best are on my system page now if you're interested.Good luck with your new speaker decision!
What define "musicality" ? And what constitute "musicality" in audio ?
We inherited a Telefunken table radio from my husband's grandfather.Gorgeous, euphonic, and "musical" sound .Our main system is of course truer to real live music.Totally different but "musical" .They both stir within each of us a profound emotional...
