Monoblocks for Sonus Faber Guarneri ?
the mac 602 drives sf's effortlessly and hits some bass notes that your not going to here with a lot of highend monoblocks...smooth tubelike midrange too.
Any hi-end Aussie speakers or electronics?
duntechs are superior in sound and build ...and are still used in many recording studios.
Epos M12 as a replacement ???
totem, castle and b&w would all be lines with quality monitors that reproduce all the dynamics in the midrange, stay smooth and open, and won't tax your wallet or your amp.... which is very cool.
Rock Lyrics - Best Reference to Other Rock Group
"i need t.v. but i've got t.rex" .....from ALL THE YOUNG DUDES by david bowie/mott the hoople.
Tube amp for Merlin TSM.
the merlin likes gobs of power...it would not be a good match with any moderately powered tube amp regardless of quality....i would suggest a belles150 or a conrad-johnson sonographe240....they are good, high powered designs and sound a bit warmer ...
ATC SCM12 and 50wpc Manley Stingray?
unless tube amps have extraordinary power, they should be used with ported, tube friendly speaker systems...i used to own a set of hales loudspeakers (sealed enclosures) and they refused to sing with anything less than 200watts per channel. they did...
ATC SCM12 and 50wpc Manley Stingray?
the atc's need gobs of grunt to sound their best...the manley is a great amp but it needs to be mated with a more highly efficient speaker.
Good match for Spendor S3/5s?
make it big and make it solid state....bryston is perfect...and macs drive them beautifully too.
Best CD Player for under $5,000
digital front ends will evolve in the next two years beyond our imaginations...unless you want a $5,000 museum piece, try to spend a lot less. i recently had the opportunity to compare a tivoli cd player which sells for $200 to three current digita...
Speaker Break In- my experience
i believe speakers do need to be broken in..but i also know that our ears adjust or get used to a change provided our brains are buying into the fact that this difference we are hearing is somehow better. having said all that i believe mr shahinia...
Does anybody know what's wrong with Tyler's bass?
bryston distributes the pmc loudspeaker line which obviously is a good match for your system but i'd have to add that the tylers aren't going to do much more than the paradigms other than empty your wallet...
Cary 308 or Njoe Tjoeb 4000?
the sonographe/cj combo is fine...in fact a rather classic combo....i'd change front ends....you'll only make the viennas hungry for more bass by going with the amps mentioned.
Speaker Break In- my experience
stay skeptical.......they are fantastic speakers though
What is next after Paradigm Studio S-40
the bryston/paradigm combo is a perfect match....i would play around with the front end cd player.
Best Speakers Compatable with System
keep the eos and buy more jazz and blues...
