Tone of Shindo
On a less expensive thought, you should listen to Leben.Shindo is system based, and generally Shindo preamps and amps match best together than trying to pair with other brands.
Dagostino hd momentum, is lack of rubes a problem?
I think you should probably buy something from VAC, unless you think it is too expensive. They make great tube gear.
Paying for equip? Ach wires or check or cc?
If you don’t like the program shop elsewhere. If you like complaining in general, you are doing a great job!
VAC preamps - too expensive?
You should buy something else instead of whining. If that is not apparent to you it is to me.
Buying used vs new?
If it’s a POS, then half off is not a good deal.if it's something without functionality you want, then half off is not a good deal.
To Harbeth or not to Harbeth, That is the question...
When I was going through an upgrade program I had some Harbeth 7 speakers for a while along with a few others. The winners in my system were a pair of Proac speakers. I have now upgraded further up the Proac line. For me the answer was not to Harbe...
Speaker Cables? why all the hype for expensive speaker wire?
@tzh21y "Does this basic speaker wire sound better than cables many times the price?"Not in my system, but apparently in your system.I do find speaker cables make less difference than interconnects or power cables.

Complimentary 2nd Cartridge/Tonearm for Dr. Feickert Blackbird
You could also consider a Koetsu cartridge. Not sure of the effective mass of the Schick. The one below might be higher mass, or you could look for a used Fidelity Research/Ikedahttps://audio-creativeshop.nl/product/groovemaster-ii-tonearm/
Best preamp with built in phono stage?
I have not heard the Atma-Sphere, but currently using a Luxman CL-38.It replaced Aesthetix Rhea/Calypso. I also wanted to reduce the number and size of boxes on my rack.VAC makes some nice preamps with built in Phono too.Might not be what you want...
Concerned about my cart/pre pairing
There is additional information here on cartridge/SUT matchinghttps://www.vinylengine.com/tools.shtml
Woodsong Garrard 301, Artisan Fidelity 301, Shindo 301, SME 301, or etc.?
I use a Helox clamp from Acoustical Systems which is very light, in conjunction with a Shindo platter/bearing/mat system. The Shindo is heavier than the stock Garrard platter, but I didn't weigh it so not sure how much heavier. The Shindo componen...
VAC preamps - too expensive?
You should ask your question in the forum link below. VAC owners post there.Given the tone of your question, not sure if you are really an interested buyer, or a lover of sour grapes.https://www.audioshark.org/vac-85/?s=ac165575cb5d793dc3c7ec9087c...
Ohm speakers
They have a home trial/satisfaction guarantee. Other direct to customer speaker makers do this also. In theory you get a better value, but it takes more work on your part. So order a pair and hear them in your home.https://ohmspeaker.com/support/#...
How do you know what your weakest link is?
j-wall There are a few different upgrade paths you could take.1. Upgrade your table and cartridge as you mention2. Upgrade your phono preamp3. Upgrade your cartridge and phono preamp, keeping the same turntable.Generally I think the analog hier...
