Speakers for small room?
I am using Proac Response 2. See my system if you like. I did not have success with rear ported speakers. If you are considering a rear ported speaker you should audition carefully in your room before purchasing. Good luck!
Best Speaker for audiophile-grade small room rig
Be sure to try them in your room. I do not have a large room either. I found that rear ported speakers did not work well in my room. See my system if you like. I have some changes planned, but it sounds good now. Also, I recently upgraded to Osiri...

I agree with Tumbler. An excellent collection of information. Kevyo, how about a little work on your social and spelling skills? It's nice to be nice.
Best Joni Mitchel Album
Blue is her best. No discussion required. It can put you in a trance because it is so beautiful.I also love Hejira. Different, but sounds great.
apparant pitch instability
Not to hijack your thread, but you should see the thread on the Yanks (Wanks?). They had this problem also.
Spendor SP1/2e's vs. SP100's
The SP 2/3's drivers were put into the 7/1, and the SP 100's drivers into the 9/1. Sadly the cabinets were too costly to produce, spelling an early demise for this fine series.Listener Magazine Volume 7, Number 1
What's your High End best buy/unknown components?
Quicksilver Phono Preamp. Not enough gain for Low output MC, unless you use the transformer. A great piece of equipment. Reliable and sounds great.
Spendor SP1/2e's vs. SP100's
You also might want to look for a pair of Spendor 9/1. The floor standing version. They sound great. I had to sell mine because I moved to a house with a smaller music room. Many regrets.
Which speaker is the master of IMAGING ????
The Acoustat X with direct drive power amps. It sounds like the harpisichord is in the room.
Could the transformer be eliminated?
You may want to see this link about the Acoustat direct drive amps. I owned them for years and loved them. They used the 6HB5 tube. I think it was also a horizontal TV tube.http://www.audiocircuit.com/9041-esl-circuit/9041IMAI-SE.htm

Listening to ALL your music
I find myself listening to the same things sometimes. I usually try to force myself to root arond and find something different. If you do that I think you find some extra pleasures. Usually you bought(hopefully for at least one good song)it for a ...

Using modern cartridges on a vintage turntable
Get a Shure V15 or the less expensive M97. It should be a great match for your system.
