Looking for Blues with High Fidelity Muddy Waters: Hard Again. Amazing in every way ”Mannish Boy” is so good, it’s just spooky (RL Burnside, “A Ass Pocket of Whiskey”, for the title alone. Album is great fun) Great thread! A ton of music to go listen to Have a great day, every...
An electrical engineer on how power cables can impact sound quality Thanks for the heads up on the podcast, didn’t know they had one

Please Recommend Highly Efficient Floor Standing Non-Horn Speaker Suggestions @alphonsodamato Forgot one - Pi Speakers in Arizona. Never heard them, just know they make 95db+ speakers Also WHT out of Australia, though serious $
Please Recommend Highly Efficient Floor Standing Non-Horn Speaker Suggestions @alphonsodamato : High efficiency makers (>95 db) - wide range of prices. All made in North America or have dealers in North America (one or two exceptions) Would also focus on impedance - with these sort of speakers should be able to have 8 o...

Will a new Dac improve the sound? @garypick - one more thought - if it were me, I would not introduce tubes into the equation at the DAC itself. Seems more logical to implement tubes at the preamp or amp - in any event, let us know what you decide to do!
Rate my system/advise @zpatenaude37 - btw, once you have it up and running, come back and tell us what you think! Would be fun to hear your reaction and thoughts
Rate my system/advise @zpatenaude37 congrats on the purchases, and I am sure you will have up something you love & with some fun ideas to try over time - seems like you’ve got a great “backbone” to work with If it were me, I would ditch the McIntosh & buy any...
Isolation Feet for Laptop I may have missed something - you are doing all this for a $700 pair of speakers? Your sense of humor is spectacular
Is the DAC the digital equivalent of a cartridge. @tyan42 For most of us, “yes” - start with the DAC, which I think will create the largest difference (and thus closest to impact of changing a cartridge). But think about the DAC/streamer as an integrated chain - I wouldn’t let the quality of on... |
