Anyone Had Experience with USB Ground Isolators?
Ozzy,Just visited the Intona website. It is interesting that Intona does not split the power from the audio signal as the iFi USB 3.0 does. One would think this to be essential as the ideal solution to lower usb noise from the computer.J.
Redbook Keeps Surprising
I agree that redbook is fabulous. From another thread :-"......I marvel at how good redbook can get today. The new gen dac’s via usb narrow the gap so much that well-recorded redbook sounds just as good as hires pcm/dsd......"

Ozzy,Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, the 2 makes you mentioned are not available where I live. The USB 3.0 is definitely making very good music now. J. :)
Anyone Had Experience with USB Ground Isolators?
I am now using the iFi/AMR USB 3.0 with Windows 10 to very good effect and without any snags with hires 24/192 or dsd. With the USB 3.0, the ground switch is kept on all the time as instructed in the manual unless there are problems communicating ...

Having ripped all my cd's to flac, I recently traded in my old K-01 for the Esoteric N-05 dac/network player as I would like to control all my music in redbook/hires pcm/dsd formats via tablet/phone and so no longer need a spinner. With the N-05, ...

Servers: Are we there yet?
Another good value server with built-in dac :-http://www.whathifi.com/cambridge-audio/azur-851n/review
Servers: Are we there yet?
In the latest issue of Stereophile, Mike L. raved about the Melco server and preferred it to the Antipodes DS. Sounds like very good value, sound- and price-wise.
Tidal vs. Spotify
Ghosthouse, thanks for the heads up. Will check it out.The Jazz for Autumn playlist is what I have been listening to for my recent experiment. It's interesting that Spotify does indeed sound like redbook quality.
Tidal vs. Spotify
Tried both and it was no contest. Inputting the native Spotify signal to the dac followed by upsampling wins hands down. Guess Windows was doing a hack job of digital upscaling. :)
Tidal vs. Spotify
Not at all, ghosthouse. Quite the contrary. I am actually curious as to how the 2 methods compare. :)
