Shocked. Need Opinions. How muck power do I need? In my experience the PassLabs deliver super control of speakers such as the PMC Twenty26 vs like you found with the Evo, sounds a little weak with the PMC MB2SE. The ARC D240 MKII (120W per channel, fully differential) was much better able to deli...
Quandary Wait until they or someone else can offer you the exact amp he’s recommended. It will sound different than the one’s he’s actually recommended. Find other opportunities to listen to the amp he’s suggested in home or in store or at another customer...
Primaluna EVO 400 Amps/Preamp lacking bass impact The only tubes I’ve enjoyed bass from are KT88 and KT120. I owned and sold a Prima Luna integrated because of this lack. Oth the PassLabs XA25 had vice like grip on my PMC Twenty26 speakers at the time.
My new Borresen X3's So the answer for me is always buying the obsolete series just expired and wait to upgrade the release then you can consider buying the next obsolete version staying one gen behind. An upgrade route for 40-60% less than the MSRP…
Townshend Isolation Products. We have engineered wood on concrete floor. Currently I use a simple carpet square to sit the speakers on to avoid scratches. I haven’t fitted the rubber feet supplied yet and not sure it will really make any difference.

Evaluating Equipment-induced EMI noise in one’s audio system And then there’s the path from power to signal path, and sources power supply vs environmental RFI, vs AC power supply. And individual parts EMI generation. Rather complex issues and measurement problems to be identified prioritised and solved.
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HATE FOR THE HIGH END GEAR ON AUDIO GEAR? Those who have the money are not waiting for anyone’s approval or validation. The only one’s you are hearing complain are those that can’t afford it. They don’t understand or relate to the luxury market. And so, who cares? You hear about it only i...

Have you found your "End-Game" speakers yet? I have. And it feels so good!!! Yes two pair PMC MB2SE Viking Acoustics L’Instruments Different. Good. Wonderful actually. But my amps etc keep having power issues.
Is there a way to switch one set of speakers between two sound systems? I know this doesn’t fit but it is electrically isolated, I get up and swap the speaker cables. Batch your listening … so you’re not comparing tracks but say albums or sources.
How easily can you distinguish between different DACs? Well this appears to be going well? Is the OP satisfied yet? For me it’s easy… Money Magnitude Margin Synergy PRAT Soundstage Timbre and tonality. Significance Value Judgement, mine or yours? Cost Logistical challenges Connectivity ...
