"I'll pay you later today" Yeah it like there is an epidemic or something. I had a guy from Australia practically beg me to sell him a record I have listed for sale in the US only. He was persistant so I reluctantly agreed. I emailed him my Paypal ID. I don't hear from him ...
I want it all A VAC Super Avatar. No longer in production, but used ones come up every so often. Stunning looks and sound.
0 feedback sellers What was the question again? Oh yeah, Talk to them on the phone and reduce your deal to writing in order to have evidence for litigation. Got it thanks.
0 feedback sellers I gain confidence in persons with low or no feedback by communicating directly with them by telephone. Everyone at Agon started at zero feedback
Siemens -Halske 6922 Hi, I have had experience with Siemens tubes. I actually prefer the 7308 version to the 6922. I have found Siemens tubes to be very open, detailed, and transparent. I previously had a CAT SLl MK lll preamp, and the Siemens 7308 was the best soundi...
Power Conditioning Help Please? Hi, there are so many to choose from. I use a Shunyata Hydra 8. I love it and have tried to listen to my system without it. I always reconnect everything back up to the Hydra. It doesn't limit current and works great with power amps too.
Why Purchase used tubes? I like the Siemens 7308 tubes in a phono stage they are very durable. I find that the Amperex 6DJ8 Buglboy tubes sound nice in tube output CD players, and you can find them very cheap on Agon. Good Luck.
beautiful piano recordings: solo or small ensemble Anything by Michel Petrucianni. He is a jazz pianist. The Blue Note label LP's or cd's are stellar sounding. This guy plays like he has an extra set of hands.
One hum problem solved, another remains If you have a tube amplifier, it is normal to hear a quiet hum when placing your ears near the speaker. If you can't hear it from your listening position, it shouldn't be a problem.
"Reference" Preamps Just imagine the great gear we never hear of unless we attend the CES, or other events that showcase highend audio. I purchased a Messenger preamp earlier this year. IMHO the Messenger competes with any preamp currently available. It won't make yo...
preamp to go with counterpoint amp I used a couple of counterpoint preamps back in the nineties. I had the SA200 Linestage, and the SA5000 with phono. The latter was their flagship and a class B rated preamp in Stereophile.Compared to the likes of Audio Research and CAT, I found th...
Harsh cable audio solution? Here is a solution. Get a satellite hookup. You will be pulling your own video and audio from the air. With cable, your signal is degraded because it is being split with thousands of subscribers.
Record Cleaners / RCMs Hi, I listen to vinyl exclusively. I have over 4,000 Lp's. I listen to my records on a VPI TNT HRX turntable. My cartridge is a Lyra Titan. I firmly believe that if you plan to invest thousands of dollars on records and the associated playback equ...
How to shop for audio Hi Shaq, you did the right thing by asking here in this forum. Local dealers are the best. A good local dealer knows what type of cables and electronics work well with your speakers. I bet you that a bunch of guys or gals that own Avalon speakers,...
MoFi tinged with distortion Hi, I own both of the same records. I love them both very much. I think they call it grunge music for a reason. I notice a bit of distortion in the guitar work. My turntable is set up properly so I am assuming that the artist or the engineer inten... |
