Krell primer?
I have had the FPB-450mcx amps for 3 yrs now and love them. the heat will grow as the volume is increased. One of the amps needed to be returned for repairs because it would over heat and shut down on it's own. It works perfect now.
cable burn-in / system burn-in
My computer was down for some time. I just got to read all the comments and respond.I guess what I was referring to would be described as (settling in). I do not know, scientifically, what is going on. I only know that after several days of being ...
Why gold?
I spent a winter in Elko, Nevada. You could toss anything outside over night to cryo it, then toss it in your freezer for a slow warm up :-)
Why gold?
Try using wire coat hangers. They are essentially free, just wiggle them around a bit to clean the connections and your good to go. Don't be fooled into believing you need to spend your hard earned money on gold and silver. You can use them for yo...
Just the musings of an audiophile
Follow up.Felling a lot better now.I only brought up the gay thing because I have relatives and friends who are gay, and that is how they explain their beginnings. As far a the sound thing goes, I really don't consider myself an equipment person, ...
From Novice - Krell 350Mcx vs Kav-2250
I had a FPB-400 stereo amp before I moved. after the move I changed to the mono FPB-450mcx amps because of the configuration of my new home, mono amps were the only option that would work.Since I didn't do an A-B test, it is really hard to say for...
Krell cast cables - Fakes, knock offs, counterfeit
It probably is the burn in time. I have only 30hrs on the system since I hooked it up again, plus I have new gear to boot. I'll re-evaluate in 3 or 4 months. Thanks

Krell Service
I have had to send my KCT pre-amp back for repairs and my KPS-28c several months later. I wish they never needed repairs, but they did. The service department fixed them for me and so I am happy. Maybe they could have done it faster, or paid for m...
Mono blocks vs 2ch stereo single amp / Krell
My recent research has indicated that the cast cable length has no adverse effect. So if I locate all my equipment on one side, and run longer lengths of cast cable to the mono amps, with my short speaker cables that would be less cost then replac...
Mono blocks vs 2ch stereo single amp / Krell
I have a gas fireplace in the center so I can't set it up with the amp in the center. I need to remove the fireplace or go to mono amps. A different location will not work in the house. I could raise the fireplace and locate the amp under it, but ...
Krell KPS 28c or other transport / DAC combo?
I too have the fpb 400cx and KCT. It is absolutely one fine system with cast cables. I snuck into the Las Vegas T.H.E. show and listned to some really expensive systems but none put my system to shame, in fact very few sounded as good. I short you...
