LP jackett maintance and fix?
There's a tutorial on Ebay.....http://reviews.ebay.com/Basic-33-RPM-LP-Cover-Jacket-Repair_W0QQugidZ10000000000752819
OJC LP Reissues???
Viridian-How do know that the current OJCs aren't pressed by Scorpio? If not Scorpio, who? Evidence? And do you mean that 'the older OJCs sound better than the current pressings of the same titles'? i.e, they've always been 'OJCs'-reissues of jazz ...
Can we go back to 33's please?
Chayro, of course those albums are available at 33 1/3-they're both reissues, so the originals (or reissues other than the 45 rpm) will always be available on the used market. The Evans/Bennett album will probably be somewhat harder to find, but E...
Can we go back to 33's please?
As to the OP-seems like an odd objection on the face of it. Virtually (I'm being conservative-I'd imagine *all*) of the 45rpms being released have a 33 1/3 original, and most have many 33 1/3 reissues. i.e., the OP should just buy the 33 1/3 rpm i...
Mintlp
VPI uses a proprietary, single null-point-jig to align the carts on the JMW series arms. I say 'proprietary' since HW has seemed unwilling to release any specifics on how it came to be, though I believe it's meant to skew the inevitable tracking c...
Overhang for Ortofon 2M Bronze on Rega RB301
Hmmm....maybe. I've never heard this-but how do you adjust for the relationship of the stylus to the groove, i.e. the 'zenith'? With any stylus shape other than a conical (or elliptical) the stylus must be 'squared' to the vinyl groove, hence the ...
Tube pre amp with phono stage and remote
Nagra PL-P? Hmmm-did you read the OP?*OP asked for a remote*OP asked for used price at +/- 3,000.00 (they're very hard to find used, and they retail for 12.5k-there is one available on A'gon right now-for 6.5k)
PHK record cleaning machine
It's more than "some pvc fittings and a plastic box"-such as a motor, threaded shaft, felt contact areas, assembly, marketing, overhead, etc. etc. and etc. Disparage it if you will, but the price shouldn't be a criticism-especially looking at what...
Blue Note 45rpm reissue
Update-Called AS, they say they're mailing the next four of the series on Jan. 20th, to get the subscribers "caught up".
Overhang for Ortofon 2M Bronze on Rega RB301
Bob-Good to hear. I'd guess that along with the proper overhang, you checked that the 'zenith' (twisting the cart around the stylus axis to align the stylus to the groove) was correct, no?Are you using the Rega 'single point' protractor? If so, I'...
Overhang for Ortofon 2M Bronze on Rega RB301
There may be no such thing as 'one correct alignment', but determining the overhang by the relationship of the cartridge body to the front of the headshell is absolutely the 'wrong' way to mount a cartridge. I'd suggest you read a cart mounting tu...
What Happened to Smart Devices, Inc.?
Don't know, but I'd try emailing Loricraft in Britain-http://www.loricraft.com/contact.html.Hopefully it's nothing terminal (I've enjoyed that site also, even though I don't own a Loricraft) but note that even the 'Smart Devices' link on the 'Lori...
Tonearm without off-set
William-With apparently the same logic that you've used for your arm concept, you've missed my point. Comparing your odd tonearm strategy to someone's expensive stereo gear means nothing-it's like buying a Ferrari because you need a new toaster.I'...
Tonearm without off-set
You ask if the no-offset proposal is "a good idea", and yet, at least at VA, you seem determined to purchase one, despite all evidence that this is not, in fact, a "good idea". If you're just looking for validation for this irrational concept, I d...
Blue Note 45rpm reissue
Timely post. I've been meaning to call Acoustic Sounds-it's been a long, *long* time since I've received an installment of the BN subscription reissues.I'll call tomorrow, but it seems like a quick e-mail to all the subscribers, informing them of ...
