Tube power amplifier low static on one channel Found it! It was one power tube which I isolated by switching channels and following the static. The power tubes are new stock so I didn't think it could be them but it was. Thanks for the help. jh
Tube power amplifier low static on one channel Ok great idea. I did some research and the sound a bad filter cap makes is a hum. I don't have a hum it is a changing low level static. Will do the power tubes and update the post. jh

Relaxed/Analog sounding DAC for under $10k (used or new) This is what I would buy. http://www.stereotimes.com/post/linear-tube-audio-aero-dac-by-terry-london/ Review just came out jh
Would like to try a tube preamp after years of solid state and hybrid I second Aric Audio and LTA. I just got in for review the LTA Velo and it is a keeper. Much wider deeper and resolving soundstage without changing the tone of my amps. Love it. Had Aric Audio integrated amp and he knows how to build tube gear. JH
Recommend me a tube integrated amplifier If you are handy you can try a kit build. I reviwed two here http://www.stereotimes.com/post/building-the-audio-note-kit-el-34-and-elekit-8900-integrated-amplifiers-by-john-hoffman/ jh
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! Hey gryphongryph, I have an isolation transformer that has a digital read out of how many watts are consumed and the S5.5 at idle is less then 90 watts. I never turn it off and it runs warm but not hot. Teajay

The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! Hey vthokie83, I totally agree with your statement, "all beautifully, and with out strain". I have now tried the S5.5 with over seven different types of speakers and each was driven splendidly at all volume levels. This amplifier lives up to its ...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! Jeez Guys, Like all amplifiers I have ever owned when you face the front of the amp the left input/speaker wire output is on the left and the right input/speaker wire output is on the right. Regardless of the manual this is a no brainer. The S5...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! Hey charliee, That’s a great question. It depends on what speakers I’m using with S5.5 in the system. For example the Musician Audio’s Knight 1 speaker is a great two-way design that has a touch of overall warmth/fullness. Therefore, I like the s...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! Hey Jeff, Thanks for your kind words towards my review. Regarding the S5.5 as being one of the best bargains in audio, I just got an Email from a listener who replaced a pair of $14000 mono-blocks with the S5.5 because it performed at a higher le...
The Stereo Times Coda S5.5 amplifier just posted today. Thanks guys Hey soix, 1) Fully balanced 2) I do leave it on 24/7 and it gets relatively hot, but not hideously so. 3) When taken out of stand-by, I would say about twenty minutes to start to sing. 4) The S5.5 gets the tonality/colors of the AricAudio tube...
