Hifi racks with isolation
If you have the space for them the Critical Mass shelves and racks work great.Critical Mass Systems.comAlso, I would second the recommendation for the HRS stuff. With either brand you can start with the isolation shelves first.
Any Sonic Benefit Tri-Wire vs Bi-Wire vs Single ?
What speakers are they? If they are Harbeth's you should use a single wire connection and the stock jumpers.
What do you think of Vandersteen 5a's?
Sorry, but the Vandersteen 5A's and the Quatro's can both be pushed up very close to the front walls and be made to sound great. My dealer set mine up only 7" from the wall and they still sound amazing!
Speakers for a Scott amp.
I used a pair of Vandersteen 1C's with a 222c for years. It was a great matchup.
Incorporating Sub into two channel stereo
With many subs you can connect the subwoofer to the speaker outputs on your amplifier. REL subwoofers actually prefer this method of connection and are great subwoofers. Your regular speakers remain hooked up the same way.
Apple's FrontRow and DAC question
Yes, that is correct. I have my iMac 24 with Leopard running Front Row into my PS Audio DAC via USB cable.
Apple's FrontRow and DAC question
So do I. It has performed flawlessly since I installed the DAC 4 months ago. I generally use the USB output from my iMac but have also used a HagTech USB converter.
Discography of JVC K2 discs?
Are these the same as the various XRCD (xrcd, xrcd2, xrcd24)discs released by JVC and others based on JVC's technology?
Digital to Analog-Converter needed?
One reason that you might want a standalone DAC is for use with a computer based digital playback system. Many DAC's have multiple inputs which would allow the use of a CD transport and/or some other device like a Squeezebox or your PC while gaini...
AR LS 26 and Pass Labs X350.5 Compatible?
I am using an ARC LS26 with a Pass Labs X250.5 amp and it is a great combination. I also tried the REF3 and that sounds even better, as expected. I tried using the Aesthetix Calypso with the Pass and that was not a good combination. It worked but ...
Subwoofer for Harbeth M30?
Hi,I used a REL Storm with the Super HL5's in my room. They worked well together. My room was actually two rooms as I have a large listening room that opened into another large open space. I have subsequently sold both speakers as I bought a pair ...
Vandersteen 5a vs. B&W 802D vs. Maggie 3.6 vs.?
As your post says "the best musical speaker" out there, I would suggest that you look into the Harbeth Monitor 40.1 as it becomes available this month. They are the most musical and natural sounding speakers I have ever heard. They play great at lo...
Jennings Research? Anyone heard of?
Back in the mid seventies I had a pair of floorstanding Jennings Research speakers as well as a set of bookshelves. The floorstanding ones sounded better than the JBL L100's that I was originally going to buy. You can find some additional informat...
Pass 250.5 with Vandersteen 5A's
I am currently using the Pass X250.5 with a pair of Vandersteen Quatro's. As a former tube lover I was startled by the realism of the Pass, Quatro combination and sold my Quicksilver Monoblocks to buy the Pass. The dynamics and bass slam are just ...
Ultimate headphone amp?
You should look at the Ray Samuels Emmeline II Raptor. I did not like the Sennheiser 650 at all until I got that amp. You can tailor the sound a bit by tube rolling and Ray is very easy to deal with. The Single Power has bit more tube lushness tha...
