need more smoothness
I can't believe it. I just went to the Bowers and Wilkens website and that's what they recommend... stick felt on their speakers!
Virgo II's without AP's placement recommendations?
I posted my opinion before regarding the AP's. Great speakers that can create a really deep, realistic soundstage. If you place them 12" from the rear wall... that's about how deep your soundstage will be.I don't know what you are paying, but I as...
Do CJ's amps project a "V" shaped soundstage?
Sorry for not being clear. By beyond i meant "to the right of the right speaker", and "the left of the left speaker". This is coming from old Spica's. eg. You could hear a symbol about two feet to the left of and above the left speaker and it was ...
Audio Physic Virgo II vs Tempo III
I think the Virgo II's are AP's standout speakers...still. With the AP's I find them very sensitive to placement and electronics. If you are going to set them up right; way out in the room- they do some spectacular things. Not sure if 15 watts is ...
Speakers for Classical and Rock in large space.
If I had half that room I would definatly own Magnapans. But i don't.
Less is more? Where's the midrange question -help
I heard those speakers and a few other AP models. I bet you didn't hear them before you bought them! AP's have a very specific sound. I believe a really deep soundstage is what they all have in common. Without proper placement and lots of system m...
Spica TC-50 or Vandersteen 1b/1c or ?
The Vandersteens do a lot of thing very well. The Spica's do some things great. You will miss them if you sell them.
Which speaker is the master of IMAGING ????
I think a lot of people feel as you do. The Legend system is an eye opener. But has anyone mixed and matched components? Unfortunatly I can't just buy the whole system. Should I try the speakers? the amp? or the cables?
Has anyone heard Piega speakers?
Heard them at the show and they were not to my liking. If you own JM you will probably not like them either. The Spendors you mention would be on the opposite end of the tonal spectrum (as the piega). Is 12x18x10 considered a small room? The Spendo...
Which speaker is the master of IMAGING ????

Which speaker is the master of IMAGING ????
I would love to get my hand on those Legends. I would just have to say they were the most enjoyable speaker I ever heard- which is all that matters to me. I wish they were a little le$$.Heard the JM, Dynaudio, Magnepan, Vandersteen,Totem, Merlin, ...
Soundstaging and imaging are audiophile fictions.
Someone please explain. I do not understand the post. Or I do not understand the terms imaging and soundstaging. eg. Drums cannot be heard rear left, vocals in the middle and trumpet high right? Not even unamplified live?By the complexity of the r...
Former Spica owners ... what did you trade up to ?
just trade offs- no trade ups
Spica TC 50 Question s
I just want to say a sub will add a nice fullness to the sound- but you will not get more volume or "punch". Spica's are great and you should NOT use a sub crossover and roll off the speakers. If you run the full signal through a sub you will lose...
HELP I need alot of audio advice....
I am going to take it back a step. If you are new to this hobby and dukie sounding means glaring in the mids -I have some bad news. If not- just ignore me.The "better" your system the more finicky it will be with recordings. (you can blame the rec...
