Case of the dissapearing Bass
Your comments about the "nice bass slam" and the woofers "popping away like mad" make me think that you may have overdriven, and blown your speakers.
Which is the best King Crimson remaster?
Thanks Joe. Once I typed in 40th anniversary edition, all the available discs were shown. I'm off and running......
Which is the best King Crimson remaster?
I've searched some of the music sites, and neither of the above mentioned seem to be available. Guess I'll have to keep trying, Thanks. Any other suggestions on good remasters of this album?
LINCOLN WALSH OHM "A" circa 1972
Stefan,Your best bet is to contact John Strohbeen at ohmspeakers.com and speak to him personally. I'm sure he can provide a wealth of information and insights better than anyone else. Call him at 800-783-1553. Also, check out their website. He's r...
How to "break-in" new speakers??
When I got my Ohm speakers, I asked John Strohbeen about break in, and he said not to worry, that they will break in naturally over time as you play them. Joe
Good speakers under 10K.
I would also advise you to read the thread "Micro Talls Who's heard them"? and visit the Ohm website, and if you're interested, call John Strohbeen and talk to him personally about what may be the best choice for you Joe
Good speakers under 10K.
I support the recommendation for Ohm speakers. It takes a leap of faith to buy a speaker you can't audition. I did just this and started with a pair of Micro Talls. I was so impressed. I got my tax return and upgraded to a pair of the new 1000's. ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
If you liked them right out of the box, you're gonna be having eargasms 6 months from now. Keep us posted Joe
Sturdy sub - $50 in-ear headphones?
You might try the Skullcandy earbuds. I got the cheapest set, the Ink'd model, for $8.00 at TJ Maxx. For the price, they sound really good, go plenty loud, and if you don't like them, you're not out a lot of money. I have 2 sets. I can't vouch for...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Rbf1138, I've got my Ohms in black finish, and thet look great. Another thing I wanted to say that the Ohms, properly set up, seem to use the room to their advantage, and when the room and speakers are interacting properly, wonderful things happen...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Rbf1138, In my own experience, correct placement of the Ohms is like "getting them in focus". They will sound pretty good where ever you put them, but to hear what makes them special, getting them in the right position is essential. I'd move both ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Rbf, If you go back to your original post of the mwt's vs the vandersteens, you'll find my post about fine tuning your set up. I discovered this accidentally when I was moving the speakers around. I moved them out from the wall for the best bass, ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Just read the German review of the Walsh 1000. The translation sounds akin to a drunken pub crawler. Of what I could understand, the review was very favorable, but needs a better translation Joe
Ohm Walsh Microtall or Vandersteen 1C
Hope you like your micro talls. They take a while to break in, but it's worth it. If you can get them placed properly in the room, you'll get a sonic reward beyond belief. I put mine 10 inches from the wall behind them, and slowly started moving t...
Ohm Walsh Microtall or Vandersteen 1C
I had a pair of the Micro Talls, and loved them, but came into extra cash, so decided to upgrade to the 1000's, Shipping the Micros back cost around $95.00 I'd have a pair of the 5000's if I could afford them. I love what the Ohms do; My speaker s...
