Bakufu.. Did you consult the previous owner about the issue?  The tube output should work of course.  You could try a new tube first off yes. Get a 6X4 replacement instead of a 6z4.  There is a little jumper beside the tube that you switch over th...
Large valve push pull monoblocks- impact/bass
Mulveling.  Great response, thanks.  No I would not be driving ls50’s with them.  I have ls50w’s, so would be getting new speakers for the rogues if I grab them. Likely tekton. You’ve had and have some nice tube gear!
Large valve push pull monoblocks- impact/bass
No problem br. Not asking that. Basically I’m asking if large power push pull monoblock tube amps will deliver slam with speakers that pair nicely.  I would consider a tekton speaker most likely due to their speakers coming with larger 8” or 10” w...
Shuguang 310A vs. WE310A
Jslateiv-Glad i could help you make the call. The stock 310’s are just fine in my system. It is almost hard to describe the tonal difference from the WE’s but what i can say overall is i do prefer the stock. What other tubes did you roll in? Which...

Just wanted to revisit this thread as much talk of the WE 310A’s had occurred. I can confirm now that i feel my stock psvane (shuguang) 310A’s are superior over the NOS WE310A’s I have had in the amp for several months now. I put the shuguangs bac...

2psyop- Yes, the brothers who started line magnetic ran a western electric restoration and repair business prior to engineering their own amps. Thus why they are very symbolic of WE amps, from the selection of valves to the quite industrial appear...

lalitk- the only standalone DACs i have heard in my setup/room are the wyred4sound DAC 2 and a Cary Audio 100t. Sure, i may be exaggerating to say 5x the cost of the 502. I understand there are many great DACs in the 4-5k range. However at that po...

Bcgator. - Yes, Its in full swing just for you buddy.. I notice your thread, directly pertaining to acquiring feedback regarding the 502. Hmmmm.. The happy meals 7 times a day is not quite the right comparison here. Sure, the oppo is not a dedicat...

Bcgator- the tube stage is very much superior to the ss stage in the 502, as im sure you experienced.  The difference in the swapping of the 12AU7's and the 6z4 was tremendous.  A very audible impact.  I just do not believe this DAC can be rivaled...

Bcgator-thank you.  I am really loving the 502. I must mention, with the 5x statement, and i should have mentioned this initially, i meant this in regards to the price i payed which was just under $900 brand new. And like you said, the tube stage ...

Just rolled the 6Z4 to a NOS tung sol 6X4WA.   Immensely opened up the sound. So much clarity, in a good way.  Can hear the 'space' in the recordings.  So much improvement i dont know where to start.  Music officially sounds the best it ever has i...

Miyabi- thanks for the info, an international line huh? I look forward to seeing what this will entail. I’m fascinated by the company. They have redefined my personal expectations in pure audio. And I love the way they look. Love the industrial ro...

Agreed guys. I don't have any DSD files.  I listen to a lot of vinyl.  And when it comes to digital I'm usually using the 16/44 red book, however if it is available is a worthy higher res, I usually grab those. Like mentioned about, what matters m...

I own not a single DSD file, thus not being able to play them was fine by me. I have the standard LM502ca. I’ve never heard of a 502ca that could play DSD....? purchased my 502 brand new.

the brand new 502ca with its brand new mullards had a drop of bite out if the gate.  Only a week later and that bite has nearly vanished.  Break in time is so real, and so necessary!
