KT66s in place of KT88 tubes
@dogberry if you look at the quad website, quad ii/40’s run kt88’s and rating is 40 wpc (as mono blocks) ... whereas quad ii classic run kt66’s and are 15 wpc as a stereo amp, so here you see apples to apples the kt88 application has about 25% m...

MQA is very good from my experience with a MSB DAC. i agree with this... on my msb analog dac, mqa music sounds terrific... though i have to admit this observation is probably more about the msb than mqa...

when i designed and built my listening room, i purposefully put a room length storage closet behind the listening position, then mounted heavy duty curtain rods above that area, hanging heavy velvet curtains to help absorb the sound from behind i...

before the advent of modern day russian engineered kt120’s kt150’s and the like, kt88/6550 tubes were the more powerful, most linear strongest pentode/tetrode power tubes, with max plate dissipation about 30-40% higher than earlier el34/kt66 types... 
Are Harbeth Super HL5 XD right for me?
when i heard grahams on a few occasions i felt their treble is voiced more forward than the equivalent harbeth or classic spendor a little more of a 'modern interpretation', and yes i agree with @yogiboy - hardly a value...  
We should reject hard-to-drive speakers more often

Resolution is a very nice feature of a good system, while too much takes away from that.   could not agree more too much of anything in life, even good things, is not good...
