Can a great system make a mediocre recording sound good?
no doubt that better systems are more revealing of recording quality variations, of equipment quality variations nature of the beast smart, experienced folks tailor how the system plays in light of the type and quality of recordings they expect... 
Why should audiophile deniers be allowed on an audiophile forum?
people get to come here, say what they want - if it is out of line, mods may intervene, or other users can call b-s, as it is also their right to do so

depends on the amp... and how power tube bias is adjusted in it... if it is done for each tube pair, then you are ok with matched pairs instead of a matched quad

Finally, I´ve got the Proac D48R speakers !!!
perhaps i missed this if it was shared earlier - but what amplification is the op using with the d48r's? in my experience proacs are somwhat finicky with amp matching to get the sound they are designed to produce...

numerous preamps/linestages should work nelson pass' fw amps have somewhat low gain/input sensitivity for modern solid state power amps, so make sure the model you choose has plenty of gain and low output impedance
