Heat in class A equipment What do you want to do that for ? All class A equipment produces heat and it permeates through the whole lot. Don't take the cover off unless you know what you are doing and just let plenty of air go round it and it will be ok.
Active vs passive crossover I think it mostly comes down to how much more it would be to make them active and would the normal audiophile be prepared to pay for it.
Has gear or a recording ever made your ears hot? I have that attribute often and usually it is when I am listening to poorly recorded classical piano . The problem usually lies in poorly regulated piano when some piano tones shout at you ,ie when some notes are slightly or badly louder than othe...
Telliriuum Q diference - Silver Diamond vs. Black Diamond Hi there I am Headphone only nowadays so I can’t comment on speaker wires other than when I did have my last speakers I used JPS and then replaced them with NBS which literally blew the JPS away but I have to say there was a sizable price differen...
Abyss ? Luxman 550aii ? Thank you @devilboy your system looks great, I hope you are getting a lot of joy from yours I know I do from mine.
Need new headphone setup. Closed back are more private in that under given circumstances other people cannot hear what you are listening to unless you listen at ear busting volumes. I prefer the open back myself as i find it gives a much airier sound and I can pinpoint the...
DACs and more. Is there a good analog sounding DAC. My friend and I both have PS Audio Direct Stream DACS and he feeds his with the Node . He gets a very detailed and unforced sound and it's a pleasure listening to Qobuz through it. You may think it is too rich for you but it can be had for not muc...
Telliriuum Q diference - Silver Diamond vs. Black Diamond I have had the Silver Diamond USB cable and can tell you once it has been burned in it is not harsh sounding in the least. It is supremely detailed and very dynamic sounding. I have heard the Black Diamond also and although it was a superb cable i...
Recommended USB Cables. The USB cable I am using now is the CAD 11 which is very expensive but I think it justifies the cost ( £1250.00 ). It completely blows away my old Tellurium silver cable with much richer tones and more detail.
New Revox I have had a demo of the system and I’m afraid I wasn’t impressed, mid fi for sure. It I think would be great for a young couple who don’t sit between the speakers. Very well made though.
Abyss ? Luxman 550aii ? When you buy a pair of what I consider to be one of the best headphones in existence I can only say please don’t drive them with a normal amp no matter how good as the headphone jack on them is always an afterthought. Luxman make a superb range of...
Classical Music for Aficionados I have to think back on a concert many moons ago when Tortellier played this at my local town hall . A wonderful rendition.
Classical Music for Aficionados I will add that to my must listen list !!
Classical Music for Aficionados @twoleftears I have been listening to Alice Sara Ott playing Liszt's Transcendental Studies and have been impressed by her maturity and deftness. These pieces have been much maligned over the last century but only because of players who just ...
