Nice! This will be a good addition to the collection.
Brightest but shortest artistic bursts in the sky
Remy Shand. Check him out. One album. Brilliant. Gone.
Greatest American Rock and Role Bands of ALL Time
It’s the Grateful Dead, hands down for me. I’m pleasantly surprised at how many others feel the same way!
Greatest American Rock and Role Bands of ALL Time
You were pushing it with Supertramp because they are from London! :)
Loudspeakers have we really made that much progress since the 1930s?
I carefully wade into this discussion by disclaiming, up front, that I am not very technical when it comes to field of high end audio. However, I'm hooked. I feel like I know "good" sound when I hear it but more importantly I know what sounds "goo...
THE most sonically dissappointing (lp) you own of great music?
CSNY Deja Vu. I have the Classic Records 45 RPM which I paid ALL the money for- and it absolutely sucks.
Audio Research Reference 6 Preamp Review
I certainly have not. However, I spoke with "a person" at Audio Reaearch about the two. He said, fairly matter-of-factly, that despite the improvement in the Ref 6 power supply that, in his opinion, the 40th Anniversary still out performed it. If ...
Audio Research Reference 6 Preamp Review
On a somewhat related note, I've never heard the Ref 6, I own the 40th Anniversary pre. I'm not sure if I'll ever switch, it's been an absolute pleasure. However, I do own the new Ref 3 Phono preamp and it's an extraordinary improvement over the R...
Solid core Versus Stranded Speaker cables
There was a time when I switched to solid core speaker cables and was quite pleased. A long-time Vandersteen dealer showed me the cables and told me that although Richard didn't publicly endorse cables these were the ones he often used. Amazingly,...
What has your audiophile experience taught you about yourself?
Don_c55"That 95% of all audiophiles are not rational, and unscientific fools!"Thats what you learned about yourself???
What's your favorite lyric from a song?
An elegant song won't hold up longWhen the palace falls and the parlour's goneWe all must leave but it's not the endWe'll meet again at the festival of friends.Smiles and laughter and pleasant timesThere's love in the world but it's hard to findI'...
Tube Phono Stage with balls, and slam!!
I have the new Audio Research Ref Phono 3. I've been amazed at the punch, slam, speed it delivers. By far the best phono preamp that they have made- (I haven't heard the Ref 10) which is saying something.
"Stairway To Heaven" Plagarism court case
Interestingly, I had created a random Spotify "radio" channel just a couple days ago and Taurus came on. I immediately thought to myself- what a Stairway to Heaven rip off. (I’d never heard it before). Then I thought- I wonder which one came first...
Are audiophiles still out of their minds?
I totally understand both sides of the cable argument. For years I was very judicious with regard to how much I spent on cables and power cords. As the quality of my system improved the more noticeable the changes in cabling became. One year at th...
John Martyn
I own virtually all of John Martyn's albums and was fortunate enough to see him play live a couple of times. I will buy the Solid Air reissue when it is released- it should sound great! Check out One World if you get the chance.
