Which $7000 speakers to ask Santa? I would definitely recommend the Merlin VSM, in a recent iteration. Seems they would work especially well in your system and room. You could probably even get a new pair of VSM-MMs for close to $7,000. Good luck!

Best "Rock/Pop" Debut Album? The Beatles! Whether it's With the Beatles or Meet the Beatles, I don't see how anything else could be the "winner" of this "contest". Talk about impact! Little kids, and elderly people, are still listening (and singing along!) to this stuff; and ...
Best "Rock/Pop" Debut Album? I agree with the Beatles! Huge impact coming out of the gates. I also agree with Crosby, Stills, and Nash (even thought these guys were all recording veterans with other bands by the time they got together). Finally, agree with Chicago's CTA and w...
Has anybody else experienced the magic of Karan?? "The amp is able to play extremely loud with no hint of compression or distortion coming from the speaker;in fact the speakers totally dissappear and are no longer needed."Whoa! I want that amp!! I could save a lot by selling my speakers!!! : ))
Rowland classic comparision: Model 8 vs. 12's I owned a 10, and have owned a 302 for about 3 years. I think the 302 is far superior. Although something better always come along, I don't imagine ever getting rid of my 302.
Anyone know anything about a new Rowland 312? Does anyone know if this means the 302 is upgradeable?
Best power amp for Avalon Opus Ceramique I am sorry that I cannot answer your specific question regarding the Opus Ceramiques. I do want to say, however, that I have found the Jeff Rowland 302 amplifier to be far superior to previous Rowland amps I have heard, and that I find it to be ve...
Your favorite song from a RECENT cd release? Springsteen's Seeger Sessions: Pay Me My Money Down, then Oh Mary... and Eyes on the Prize
Esoteric UX-1: How "noisy"? OK, M - By the way, just wanted to say I meant to say "doesn't MEAN anything's hell for me". I certainly wasn't saying trying to say "don't assume...", i.e. assume whatever you want, of course.
Esoteric UX-1: How "noisy"? Mgottlieb - I'm puzzled by your puzzlement. I simply prefer quiet over noisy. Doesn't assume anything's hell for me.
Esoteric UX-1: How "noisy"? I'm always surprised when anyone says that they can hear something, but it's not a problem for them if they can't hear it when music is playing. Surprised because it is still part of the noise floor, even though it can't be detected as a separate ...
Entec Number Cruncher plus G&D UTP-1 I owned this combination for many years, and had them updated faithfully as available. I now own an Exemplar 3910, and it is FAR better (in every way) than the G&D/Cruncher combo. I know Bob Crump thought the combo was better than the Exemplar...
CTC Blowtorch I have my power supply on the floor, and the control section is in a rack. This works very well. Obviously you want to have the power supply on some kind of rack/base/isolation unit on the floor. The question, of course, will be whether the length...
