Bryston ??? That may make sense. I hope so. Thanks for the response.
How important is the pre-amp? Everything matters but after 3 decades and God knows how much equipment I firmly believe the preamp and source are super important.
Wyred STP-SE : Break In Times Maybe your source is not what you thought it was, stp-se is ruthless in revealing equipment and speakers.
Beginner looking for guidance into tube sound. I would consider a Jolida 1501BRC, it is an integrated and has 12AX7 input stage. They are pretty damn reliable and sound good. You should be able to find one used for around $600ish. Read some reviews but only get the BRC version its the best one...

Living the audiophile life. I dont know, i look at like a fish that gets hooked for the first time. The fish did not know there was a world above the water. The first time i got hooked was at Alma Hifi, in metro Detroit. 1989 BW801S2 and about 25 grand worth of Krell hardwar...
Do we really need anything greater than 24/96? Opinions? I think bit rate and sample rate are increasing because the chip manufactures like Ti and Sabre are progressing, it cant be stopped. Chips will increase in bits and frequency and oems will source newer chips as time marches on. I read somwehere th...
Looking for a low gain solid state preamp with balanced in/out I have never auditioned the w4s preamp, though it does seem to be in the orice range, lately I have been thinking about perhaps a Bryston bp20 or Bp25.Thx for suggestion
Looking for a low gain solid state preamp with balanced in/out Thank you, I did not know that Van Alstine had low gain setting ability, I have been impressed by AVA stuff in the past.
Looking for a low gain solid state preamp with balanced in/out I am sure you are happy with the Ayre K1xe but its a touch more expensive than the LS9. I guess I could sell one of my kids cars :).
Should I repair my Creek 4330 or replace it? 4330 is a great amp if your speakers support it. Glad you ate having it fixed. Also at least with the older music hall integrated amps they had socketed op amps and you could replace the opams with opa627 and the improvement in sound was nothing s...
Is a Bryston 3B SST2 enough for Magnepan 3.7i or 20.7? So you have a very inefficient speaker with a low ohm loading on the amplifier. I believe that many amplifiers distortion profiles change for the worse as they get driving low ohm loads, it requires a stiff power supply or a switch mode power supp...
Graduating to separates need help The world is your oyster right now, many good options. The only advice I would give is seperate dac for sure! The tech is moving fast. For audio anyway. Good luck!
Which Class D Amplifier? PS Audio, Ghent, Nord, Merrill or other??? I have had and listened to many amps and have been in this stupid game many years. I have settled on class d because it sounds so Damn good for the money but also for the convenience. Yes a krell fpb300 sounds better than my sti500 but not that mu...
Which Integrated with Power,Current, and Bass Hi, have you considered a Wyred4Sound 250 watt integrated amp. I love mine, I have speakers with 15inch woofers, and I think netflix is doing structural damage to my house. The amp is dynamic, powerful and pretty smooth, but not dull. Plus seems t... |
