Hegel Amplifiers
Milpai, you may want to avoid those 'dialectic wires' - things can get very confusing, very quickly. If you're feeling adventurous, however, I believe Hegel has produced some rather systematic instructions... :o)
Harbeth P3 stands....... Skylan or Sound Anchor
Thanks, but I'm looking for inexpensive alternatives that are readily available in Canada. I would really appreciate input from someone who has used such stands with the P3ESR.
Makeshift Isolation - Advice Needed
I should have mentioned that I cannot test any of these DIY fixes - at least not yet. I'm still waiting on the speakers, interconnect, and power cord. I'm just trying to plan ahead so I can start enjoying the music ASAP.I already have a prospectiv...
Harbeth P3 stands....... Skylan or Sound Anchor
Thank you for the pricing information, but I'm still interested in alternative stands. So, does anyone have any experience with speaker stands other than Skylan or Sound Anchor for the Harbeth P3ESR?
Makeshift Isolation - Advice Needed
Thanks, but I still want to know if the felt will work. This is only a temporary fix, so I'm trying to work with what I have.Concerning the components, each has four rubber feet. If I place some felt underneath those rubber feet, will this provide...
Harbeth P3 stands....... Skylan or Sound Anchor
Hmm, $233 isn't bad (taxes?), but what options do I have for < $150 used? I went way over budget on this system, so I need to be strict about what I spend.
Harbeth P3 stands....... Skylan or Sound Anchor
Time to revive the thread! Has anyone tried the Harbeth P3ESR with stands other than Skylan or Sound Anchor?I'm looking for some inexpensive, readily available speaker stands (From what I've seen, Target stands are fairly inexpensive and easy to l...
Power Strip Question - PLEASE HELP
Well, after much consideration and conflicting advice, I've decided on the following...I will purchase the Wiremold L10320 for use with my audio system. This specific power strip has no additional performance limiting features and it's recommended...
Power Strip Question - PLEASE HELP
Thank you for the suggestion, but the PS Audio PowerPlant Premier is, oh, about $1120 USD more than the Wiremold L1032. That is way, way beyond my means. I have $100 CDN max. No exceptions. If I'm going to spend that kind of money (which I don't h...
Power Strip Question - PLEASE HELP
Indeed, but certain compromises are better than others. Why do you suggest running a second power strip from the first? The Wiremold is strictly a power distributor, so there is no circuit breaker, filter, or anything of that sort. As a result, th...
Power Strip Question - PLEASE HELP
I've been told multiple times to avoid power conditioners/surge protectors for audio equipment as they will degrade sound quality. Is there some place where I can get an objective analysis? Perhaps an well respected article, or something of that s...
Power Strip Question - PLEASE HELP
Interesting suggestion, but my DIY skills peaked at the age of 10 when I built a birdhouse. I seriously doubt I would be able to better that performance.Anyway, I want to understand why these particular conditions are so poor. Is it the electrical...
Power Strip Question - PLEASE HELP
I'm aware that this setup is less than ideal. However, only one duplex outlet is accessible, so I will have to make due at the moment. If it matters, only a select number of electronics will be operational on the second power strip at a given time....
Harbeth - Compact 7 ES-2 used OR P3-ESR new ?
Really? I actually prefer the cherry over the rosewood, but that's just me. I'm not really a fan of the darker veneers. Quick question... given the diminutive size of these little speakers, are speaker stands really necessary? I mean, I know that ...
Harbeth - Compact 7 ES-2 used OR P3-ESR new ?
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I eventually decided on the P3-ESR. Here was my reasoning (do let me know if you agree):1) Only the P3-ESR would work properly in my existing space. While it's important to plan for the future, one cannot disregard th...
