Does raising speaker cables off the floor really make a big difference?
I have found that any sonic benefit of raising the cables is negated by the irritating noise made by the mice feet when they do the limbo under the cables.
Schiit not that Good?
In a way the newfound sensitivity of some members is getting to be a bit of a problem. I know wolf was thinking of purchasing either the Pass XA25 or the Schitt Aegir, the exact two amps I have been considering. So if I ask him what he liked better...
Which of these power cords ?
It is my understanding that you would generally use a different gauge wire for power amps than for your digital gear.  If you go with more expensive cables this can make a fairly large cost difference as the higher gauge (thinner) cables generally...
Which of these power cords ?
I also decided to dip my toes into the aftermarket power cord market and needed a large number of cords.  Not knowing what to expect in general I didn't want to spend too much.  At the suggestion of an Audiogon member I purchased these low cost ca...
How good can it get, really? - my stereo sounds amazing!

How good can it get, really? - my stereo sounds amazing!
Respectfully submitted, and really not looking to argue, but I think that one large impediment to advancing an audiophile system is having something more important to ones life to allocate money on. Also, I just watched the zero fidelity you tube ...
Subwoofers and Phase Question For You Sub Experts
On the subject of phase settings, its probably my hearing, but I can't tell the difference whether I set it to 0 or 180.  So I just split the difference and set it to 90 on both my SVS subs.  Can others hear the phase setting differences?
Going linear - The Luxman 507ux
brostymie, will you be needing a step up or step down transformer in your country?  A good one costs a few but not excessive $ bucks.
CD Player vs. music streaming
big_greg, I just purchased a Bluesound node 2i last month and have to confess I am having a blast with all the available music.  I live in a fairly rural area in Vermont so there are just a few broadcasting radio stations.  I haven't experimented ...
CD Player vs. music streaming
I think of streamers in the same light as Class D amplifiers.  IMO they are a developing technology and the $thousands you spend today will be worth a fraction of that in the near future.  JMHO
What's up with TMR Audio?
mrbell has a total of three posts to his name.  He probably started this thread because he is a newbie and was unaware of TMR's long term standing in the audio community.  Why not cut him a break and maybe come down a couple of branches from your ...
$27,500 for whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat???
Think positively, it could be worse, it could be $27,000 paint upgrade charge per speaker, rather than per pair.  It is per pair, right?
What's up with TMR Audio?
ALL thru email. low overhead(people) is one of the ways they keep prices low.I seem to be the only one who felt that they were making a very low offer on an item I was considering selling.
What's up with TMR Audio?
Agree totally with uber, never a worry in the big picture, but kind of worry about the little niceties that define a class outfit.
Russian Tubes or Old "American" Tubes (built where ever)?
It would be appreciated if someone who has used both the Gold Lion 12ax7 and Psvane 12ax7 would give their opinion which they preferred and why.  I am currently enjoying the Psvane in my preamp at this time.  The reason I asked is that I really lo...
