Can someone explain to me why : Accupahse Equipment is that expensive ?
cleeds +1Also if you guys were in the store with me and heard how I was being spoken to you’d be singing a different tune. Actually d2, we were more or less agreeing with you.

How do you know the store or distributor is greedy? There may be agreements in place involving the manufacturer that dictates these prices, and Accuphase itself maybe charging a premium for US distribution. Cleeds, while I see your point, other th...

Why? Do you think he owes you a discount? Perhaps the dealer never discounts. Maybe he reserves discounts for only his best customers, which is an understandable policy.Seems pretty clear why he could expect a discount. Greedy store has jacked up ...
Class D amplifiers have very little phase shift
Erik, I may have missed it in another thread, but about how many pairs of and different configuration of pairs of speakers have you built?  Were they from the kits I see online? Seems like it might be fun, if they turned out OK which might not be ...
3 budget speaker cable choices
I ordered spades, you can see them on their website.  They are rather thick but I have never had a problem with them.  I am not sure, but you could check with BJC if you cared, but I think if I wanted to change from spades to banana's, or whatever...
3 budget speaker cable choices
I have used both the Belden and Canare, both from Blue Jeans.  The Canare as I used them have two of their four strands combined in one connector, so I believe that they end up being 12 gauge. In my system it was no contest, the Canare was much ni...
Screw on banana/spade connectors

Moving cables around killed dynamics for days anyone else experience this?
Toronto isn't a lovely city compared to Montreal or Quebec City.  And if I got it right you moved there from Vermont.  Don't agree with your moves, love Vermont, except for Bernie.
Synergistic Research Cable Risers?
FrankIs this the same "friend" who is the attorney in Vermont who was going to sue PPT in New Hampshire? Or, is it the same "friend" who gave you all of the SR fuses to try that didn’t work out for you??I would be interested in wolf’s answer to th...
Future of cables!
djones51, your probably wasting your time. I would guess the individuals you are addressing were too busy studying the really interesting quantum aspects of wire, or the intricacies of wire directionality or the dynamics of little springs, to have...
Whatta Ya Think About Hsu Research Subwoofers?
I use two of the SVS SB-12 NSD subwoofers mentioned above in my main system. They are a discontinued model and can still be had for $400 each. Never a glitch.https://www.amazon.com/SVS-SB12-NSD-400-watt-Controlled-Subwoofer/dp/B009F8Y7SO
Synergistic Research Cable Risers?
One must take into account that there is a slight and constant bend in the cable where it is hung onto the cable risers.  Have four or five of these "static" bends per speaker cable and you have created series of resistances which when compounded ...
What are you using to drive your Tektons?
