Antique Sound Lab 805 DT SETs--WOW I have just purchased a set of 2nd hand ASL explorer 805 SET (old one with a meter). At 50W they can drive the 85db MBL 111 without any problem and really a different kind of sound from the push-pull. Seems more coherent and real. Push-pull is mor...
Ampzilla 2000 Mono block V1 vs V2 James replied to me saying the driver stage is a new design same as the Son of Ampzilla 2000.Anyway, I got the Ampzilla 2000 V1 and they are absolutely powerful and sounds close to my favourite ASL Hurricane 200W tube amp and bass is very well con...
Cryoset Tubes Issue You are right Thorman!I am going to stay away from Cryoset because they will not admit it's their tube issue when some of the tubes cannot stabilize. They keep saying it's my amplifier issue and yet only some of their tubes cannot work. Other tube...
Ampzilla 2000 Mono block V1 vs V2 That what I think too but looking at the review here:http://www.ampzilla2000.com/Cordesman.pdfIt said "Ampzilla (V1) 2000 uses 12 250-watt outputdevices per monoblock".I tried to search for manual on-line or emailing Spread Spectrum but no reply y...

Consonance M100-Plus impressions? I have a M100-plus and it delivers solid sound and has quality components. Don't expect it to drive tower speakers though. Normal bookshelf is more than enough.I don't think Primaluna is much different or better after trying it on a Magnepan. Treb...
Using 2 integrateds to bi-amp? I did a similar setup for the Magnepan 3.5. I use the Jolida 1051 int amp 100W for Bass and it's tape output to a Opera EL34 40W tube int amp for treble. Operation wise - you just turn up the treble volume first and adjust the bass to fit the song...
Review: Grado Prestige Black Cartridge Just tried it on with Technics Linear Tracking flagship SL-10 in p-mount the this Gardo sings very well. Not as good as the Sumiko Blue Point EVO but at 8x less it definitely delivers the music to a enjoyable level.Top can be higher and more cryst...
Your ''best kept secret'' speaker choice ? MBL for their unique radiator design that like no other speaker can match.Magnepan for their exceptional price-performance and un-beatable tweeter and seamless integration. If correctly amplified, bass is not a problem. My 3.5 with 400W amp blast ...
Magnepan 7.0 3.5R x 2 pairs vs Tympani Thanks Sgr - should it goes like viewed from top?a.\_ _/or b./_ _\ with the listener at the bottom position when viewed from top.Should the tweeter be closer to the lister or closer to the front wall(speaker wall). Thanks and I waiting to try it ou...
Magnepan MG20 tweaks ? TRi amp them actively - that's the only way to realize other 60% potential untapped.
Tightening loudspeakers screws... The first step to listen to any speaker is to remove the front baffles!!Whoever don't do this is obviously not a pro or don't want to show you the real potential of the speaker.
Opinions on MBL 121's 24x14' - then 121 should do but do watch out for later desire to upgrade to full tower.I know many 121 owner eventually do that and taking a small lose to sell their 121. There are 3 pairs of 121 show up in my city recently because of this reasons...
MBL WITH SUB?? I A-B compare the MBL 121 vs MBL111B. No contest here - 111B wins big time. Without the sub they sound very similar. The Sub of 111B is similar to that of 101e and it's the size of a small fridge with 12" woofer goes down to 20Hz and with 30mm MDF...
16K to Spend. Help me make the end all Upgrade. Your Aerial 10t are very good speaker and I think if you want to upgrade to another level you need to spend 30K+ to make a difference. Speakers in the 16K range will sound different and will not significanly better than yours. As for WAF, this will... |
