Help me pick a digital cable Ok, I just gotsta know. Have any of you tried to tell one digital cable from any other in an honest blind test?Maybe I'm deaf or my cd side stinks, but I can hear big differences in ic's and speaker cables but can hear none at all with digital cab...
from 87db to 90 db ? Maybe go with some nice flower arrangements in the listening room? Buy a "Best of Oprah" dvd and put it on continuous repeat? Dress nicer when you listen to them and take them out of the house once in a while?I.E. - There's not a practical solutio...
VPI Scout Placement My mistake. If you listen whilst doing squat thrusts or if your living room is subject to frequent Buffalo stampedes then the wall mount might be the best option. If you are concerned more about "the slightest thump or walking across the room" caus...
VPI Scout Placement And dissed the folks who have had success with platforms.
VPI Scout Placement I have an Aries on wood base carpeted floors. Mapleshade Recordings stand and 4" maple platform supported by their isolation gizmo's twixt the platform and top shelf does a nice job for me.I forget what they call their 2" wafer isolation gizmo but...
Opinions, Is this better for the Members? I think the old approach was better. If I understand the new approach, anyone wishing to avoid negative feedback only has to disagree that a transaction took place & then it can't be posted. Also, you can'y leave negative feedback when people c...
Help choosing tube monobloc's ED_Sawer. To each their own. I auditioned a mono blocked pair of BAT VK150's driving the speakers I own & prefer the Rogue. May depend on what type of music you listen to, or could have just been a system matching or personal preference thing....
Help choosing tube monobloc's All the above sounds reasonable. One caution, if you want 150 wpc minimum, you'll only get that from the Rogue 150's when they are switched to ultralinear. May not be an issue for you (I have a Zeus and always leave it in u-linear because I prefer...
Speaker Wire for a non-anal listener "non-anal listener" - I enjoyed that. Anyway I've got a NAD powered 2nd system & I went with genuine "Builders Square" solid copper 10 gauge building wire, with white colored insulation of course. I like it, but 12 or 14 gauge would probably s...
Whats better than VTL 450 for the money? I like the Big Rogue, fwiw. Vandersteen has paired them with the 5's at a show or two I believe so if you go with their speaker you may find they have some insights on synergy. My guess is that you will sooner or later have to swap the Cardas gold...
Do higher end tuners pull in more stations My thanks to you all !!!
how did this happen? You might have gotten off lucky, sometimes the crossovers will blow a capacitor (or other cheap passive component). I'd eyeball them for obvious signs of an overheated component as a first step. FWIW, the first time this happened to me I paid $75....
Ring fly wheel stabilizer vs none. After about 9 beers I'm strictly a cd listener. Up to that point I've pretty thoroughly field tested the ring and have no worries (after about a six pack I think holding on to it actually helps stabilize you and gets you focused for the real tedio...
I am asking your opinion as to the best turntable Bill, after you have addressed usability & reliability & support, your best bet it too get whatever looks the coolest (or otherwise rings your chimes) & see what happens. At the price points you are talking about (and much lower) it is...
How to maximize Dynaudio Special 25s With Dynaudio Confidence 3's, which appear similar to the sp 25's. I like the Rogue magnum 99 pre and Rogue Zeus power amp combo (& Acoustic Zen Hologram speaker cable & AZ copper Ic & balanced connection option on the pre-out, fwiw). ... |
