Speaker Cables for Dynaudio Special 25 I liked Acoustic Zen Holograms with some C3's which are similar to the 25's. Went the 'cable company' route and listened to maybe 9 cables in the 1k-3k range before I bought.
High priced power cable what about the romex Punkuk - Powercords (and digital cables, sheesh, don't get me started) are one of those things that for the most part owe their continued survival to the power of suggestion and the avoidance of blind testing. However, as one plush digital cable o...
What material is based below a down firing sub? I called Vandersteen Audio with the same concern and got a response very similar to what Flrnlamb said, but the only downside to not putting it on carpet mentioned was the possibility that the speaker would be more capabale of movement ("microvibr...
The best "no fuss" turntable for $5K or less? I had bad luck fusswise with a Nottingham Spacedeck/Spacearm combo, fwiw. Instructions supplied were the worst I've ever seen and typical tweaking with the arm drove me insane. Did like the looks and sound and would probably heve been happy with s...
Best Speaker cable for my setup for around 2 k WWW.FATTWYRE.COM or something like that, if you search for The Cable Company I think you will get there.
Ready To Upgrade Turntable, please advise... Would definetly be looking to buy the tt system used and would be open to looking for a used Aries as well. If you are set on buying new I like Rushton's advice.
Upgrading? Sophia/Dynaudio/Revel/Genesis 6.1 ? Recently advertised used stuff that is in the price range and worthy of slobbering over (to me anyway). Vandy 5's, Meadowlark Blue Herron, Dynaudio Confidence 5 (ok, it is well below your price range and not for organ music but I think it is a cla...
Any GREAT "sleeper" amps? I enjoyed Arcams Alpha 10 (about 100 wpc if memory serves) in both integrated and power amp versions. Don't know if the used Alpha's are going at what you'd call a steal though. Good Luck!
your opinion on subwoofers in two channel I think good subs that can be tweaked in to mate with your room & system do make sense and can add to the enjoyment in a meaningful way. Less adjustable subs or trying to do to much from a single sub can be more of a distraction than a benefit...
Rogue M-150 Kept coming back to the stock Sovetek long plates in the 12ax7 slots on the Zeus. Tried telefunken's and a couple other flavors, none were bad, the long plates just seem to give a crisp and tight sound to the bottom that works well in my system an...
Best cd player for under $800.00 Njoe Tjoeb is an option.
What are the best Audio Compnent Racks Available? I like my mapleshade.
Anyone using the Clear Audio Virtuoso Wood? The Clearaudio V-Wood was the only cartridge I've yet to try that I can say that I hated. To me it was shrill on top and just not particularly good anywhere. In comparison, a cheaper Dyn dv20xh sounded very very nice on my system as does shelter 9...
No way,No how,Never will... Jafox - I think that I should have more strongly emphasized the word MOST, or maybe written 'many' or 'some' instead. If he is using equipment that has marginal internal voltage regulation or if his incoming ac line is very dirty, then a line cond...
No way,No how,Never will... Stick to your eardrums! I figure that most of the 110v side gadgets (pc's, big cords, fancy receptacles) are often best thought of as a tax on people who don't understand electronics or the power of suggestion. You might like tubes though. Good Luck! |
