Opinions on equipment+acoustics on large rooms
I guess my question is, how high fidelity are you going for . If you are playing live chamber music it is goign to be different than your local rock band. The solution could easily run into the many thousands of dollars or be much less depending on...
What Would you Trade your System FOR?
I don't think there is anything within my realistic reach I would trade it in for...If there was I probably would have done it already. On things out of my reach there are a whole list of thingsThe perfect job would probably be tops....just below w...

Leave it on or turn it off?
I am also a california resident (san diego area)I turn my stuff off at night and turn it on when I get from work.I would just feel too bad about using all that power just for an iota of increased listening pleasue.Really, this expensive stuff we b...

Pick one:Shunyata Hydra or PS Audio
DrubinThat is interesting. I had thought that the power draw of the power plant was much higher.I see you live in california as I do.How did you check what the draw was when both were plugged in?JD
Pick one:Shunyata Hydra or PS Audio
One more note:The power plant uses a prodigious amount of power. The Hydra and the MIT Z center do not. That said, has anyone compared the MIT line vs the other 2 contenders?JD
Should 2nd. Buyer Receive Guarantee ?

Should 2nd. Buyer Receive Guarantee ?
I have very little that I can add to the above comments except to stand firm with my fellow consumers....The companies that make this stuff supposedly make it to uncompromising standards. These components represent their cratsmanship and when they...

Good point flex.Actually the reason I started thinking about this was while in a stereo store I happened to hear some audio research stuff with eidolons. The cables in use were actually the cables they usually use for the spectral setup. That got m...

A. Eidolon v. JM Lab Utopia
I run eidolons and I love them. I agree about the midrange but how do the labs match up on the bottom end? The eidolons in some rooms can sound a bit thin in terms of the bass.jd
Another blues great passes...
Heard the news on the radio this morning. I had no idea he was in his 80's already!jd
The Best Movie sound Tracks
my favorite is "boys on the side".There are several female songs that sound very different on different systems.the other obvious choice is "O brother where art thou" especially the alson kraus song
