Need a speaker for the blues lover...
Excellent -- we've sorted out the "oxymoron question."
Need a speaker for the blues lover...
I agree with Tim that Fritz is worth calling; he's a good guy, and the Carbon 7 is very nice indeed, if a bit over your stated price range. As Tvad points out, not clear that any of the speakers mentioned are esp. well suited to blues -- but I'm n...
Girlfriend's mom threw my Cardas out with trash
We'll, are they still together? ;)
One Less Bose Wave Radio in the World
Has2be's suggestion has some merit, I think. While the size of New York kitchens (and social obligations) may mean that a pretty high monthly restaurant outlay can be hard to avoid (for some lifestyles), it might be worth pointing out that upping ...
One Less Bose Wave Radio in the World
Peachtree has a one box unit with iPod dock. No first hand familiarity, but people seem to like it.John
Need demo CD's for RMAF
Valerie Joyce, "New York Blue," is an unusually fine recording from Chesky, which I often use to demo. Don't know if it fits your genre requirements, though. Herbie Mann's "Live at the Village Gate" is also fine, though it tends to the very "stere...
Should Equalizers make a comeback?
Are treble adjustments on speakers also forbidden?John

Best budget $300 Balanced IC Recommendation
I like my Balanced Power Technologies (BPT) balanced IC; they come in at your price point. John
Dynaudio C1, why so expensive?
I've auditioned the C1 (and the Sapphire). The price of the *tiny* C1 is certainly arresting, but as others have noted, hard to say what is "fair."What does seem easy to say is that at 7k, one has a *lot* of options besides small 2 ways. (Perhaps ...
How has Pure Music been so greatly improved?
My apologies again, Herman. I agree that my question was a simpleminded one. And I mistakenly failed to read "I don't see how it could be any more obvious" in the helpful spirit you apparently intended it. John
YG Acoustics or Dynaudio
Hi Oeiras. I'm also shopping, and while I've not heard the YGs, I auditioned the C1s and also the Dyn Sapphires. You've got a broad (and not small) price range, and, like others, I think it makes sense to widen the search. My guess is the C1 needs...

Terribly sorry Herman!! I didn't mean to put you out!! I know everyone here is busy. Tbg: I may PM if I have trouble with Memory and HOG.John
