Tube Rolling for Pro-Ject SE II
You say the stock tubes are a tad warm for your rock lp's. How do you know it's the tubes? Is this a new phono stage in your system? Perhaps it's the unit itself that's "warm". I'd suggest trying a couple of inexpensive tubes to see what effect th...

Man Cave or No?
I was at a party last week and saw a real "man cave". There was a bar and game room in the basement, with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves along one wall. One of the shelf units was hinged, and opened like a door into the guy's theater room.

Near Full Range, Highly efficient Stand Monitors?
I'd suggest you look at Reimer speakers, but I'm not sure they are still in production. I haven't seen any ads for them recently.I have an early version of the McCullough model that I'd like to sell. You can contact me via email if you want to lea...
Spikes and hardwood floors.....what to do?
You could also determine the optimal location for the speakers with the spikes removed, and then replace the spikes and carefully set them in place. As long as you never move (or bump) them, the worst you would have is some small pin holes that pr...

Balanced SET Amplifier
Are your looking for a balanced amplifier, or a balanced integrated preamp/amp? You mention that your phonostage is balanced. Don't you need a preamp between your phonostage and the amp(s)?
