@uberwaltz - No there are. But many are not ones I would purchase as a normal recording, let alone shell out, as you said, 100.00+ USD. :D

@uberwaltz - I did find about 4-5 recordings at Discogs. A lot was music that I was unfamiliar with though.

@benjie I run mine through the tape-loop of my SAE5000 (which I run through the tape loop of my Soundcraftsman EQ). That frees my preamp to just run my tape decks.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a number of these discs available on Discogs.  I have placed a few into my cart and wil place the order once the stimulus check arrives.@rok2id5 you can get an idea for the value by going to discogs and performing...
Need help on a CD player
I just spent $550.00 on an Emotiva ERC-4. I too looked at the Marantz CD6006 as a replacement for my Carver TL3200 (in which the transport finally went T-up, butt-down), the problem with Marantz right now is the supply chain has been somewhat inte...
Have a U-Turn turntable with Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. Upgrade cartridge or turntable???
Dump the Orbit in a heartbeat. Music Hall are decent from my listening, Rega or Fluance are better choices. You can get a Fluance RT-84/85 w/ortofon Red MM for 499.00 USD@chakster: I too wonder why the push against certain types of cartridges. Not...
Suggestions for an Analog Front-End
I have heard great things about the Fluance line of TTs. They are belt-driven and come with an Ortofon Red MM cartridge. Rega is good, as is a Marantz. Otherwise, you can look for vintage Marantz, Pioneer, JVC, Yamaha, Kenwood on ebay. You can find...
what's your opinion on the magazine 'stereo review'??
SR and Hi-Fidelity were my mainstay mags in the mid/late-70s. Bought my first system (JVC 100/Kenwood KD-1003 turntable/Ohm Model E speakers) based on the equipment reviews at the time. Added in a Teac top-load tape deck to complete the ensemble.E...

Subwoofers driving me nuts
As dweller said/implied - your speaker orientation has the biggest impact in your overall sound. One should always try orient your speakers along the long axis of the room. Sometimes that isn't possible (The CFO booted me out of my former room int...
Reasonable moving coil cartridge
So after further review, and having a bit of extra money in my pocket from some unused cash bonuses from work, I am going with the following:Fluance RT84 turntable: $449 (USD) - I couldn’t justify spending an extra $50USD on the acrylic platter.Or...

Several solid recommendations here. Thank you! One brand that is noticeably absent is Ortofon. thanks
